Yo Troopers, this is a must see item 2303370889081 ebay US site. Never seen a listing like this before, talking postage $1,000 or you can fly to Peru to pick the items up lol. It would be OK if you had one of the US giant Transporter planes lol. Can you imagine what the customs would make of it:eek:.
Bernard.

Tried to view it
browser got stuck ! had to restart .
Did I see an opening list at $149,999.99 ?

I could not access the listing either, but I recently changed my internet provider and I'm currently having problems getting most websites - except Treefrog for some reason. And I can only receive emails and not send, I think Telstra is giving me some payback for changing to Optus :)

Interesting to put them in such large lots; you would think they would have done a better job indentifying the figures. You won't trip over me if you want to bid on this one though.;);):D

Interesting collection, figures as well as his militaria.

If my math is correct, the opening bid works out to $93 per figure, more or less. I know that that's a crude way of estimating, since it doesn't account for the rarity or lack of it, the maker, the composition of any sets, and the figures that are one-offs and unique. Of course, as far as uniqueness goes, I'd put up figures by any of our fellow forum members, any day ;)

Looks like many of the figures in the category, "Made by the collector" are kit figures which he modified, in some cases, and painted. Like some Staddens, for example, and Mignots. He did a nice job with them.

These kinds of auctions and sales always make me wonder what our stuff will look like, when we're gone and someone has to liquidate the collections. It's a shame to break it all up, should go in a museum or some other display.

Prost!

Most that do go to a museum end up in a dark corner if they even get out of the storeroom

JESUS CHRIST

It took me 15 minutes to view the photos.

Talk about a serious collector and a life's work.

Unreal,

I think that the seller possibly will make more if he splits them up in to smaller sets. Shame to break it all up but many collectors could then benefit from these well kept figures. No joy in them being in the darkest depths of a museum where no one would ejoy them.

I wouldn't mind the Coronation coach or the State landau :D

is anyone going to make him an offer ;)
you never know with the crdit crunch

Hi Guys,

So who is the one who made the offer on this one? Come on fess up! We want to know....

I have to admitt there are numerous sets in this display that i would enjoy owning. I was amazed at the condition of several of them. The RAF firecrew was in just amazing condition as were many of the other sets and his conversions were very interesting too.

So anyone have any idea who made an offer on this? Pat, Scott who could it be?

Watching this one with interest

Dave

Hi Dave,

You most certainly must be kidding! You know I would not bid against you!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat ;)

I looked up the bid info, but it doesn't show the details, only that it was declined.

I think the $313 is just the shipping price at this point.

They would do better splitting it into manageable lots. Even the Forbes collection did that.
