Is there a list somewhere giving the date when the various retired items were retired?

Gentle Friends,

I, too, would be interested in a list of K&C retirement dates.

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

your best bet is to look at the old dispatches, unless somebody out there has compiled a list.

I developed a rather simple database to track some of the K&C series including the released and retired dates. It isn't comprehensive in regards to all the series that K&C have released over the years, but does cover a number of the popular lines based on dates I could piece together using the dispatches. You can check the site out here. Very simple, but useful I've found. I offer it up in the hopes it may be of some use.

That's fantastic. I think you have performed a very valuable service for collectors. Much indebted.

Hi Rich,

Thank you so very much for allowing us access to your K&C Released/Retired database. I have printed the information you have that applies to my collection and you have saved me a great deal of time and work. I appreciate your generosity very much!

Warmest personal regards,

Pat :)

Thanks for all the kind words. I plan on adding further information to it, but started off with the series I am interested in initially (WW1/2 and American Revolution). I have some Napoleonic data ready to go, but haven't loaded it yet. Hopefully in the next week or so when I get some time. Also going to expand the search capabilities a bit, so you can search on keyword and/or released/retired date. Pretty much just taking the dispatch information and making it easier to search through. I'm glad that the database could be of use to other collectors!

Rich

Thanks Rich, your list with photos is fantastic. I have printed the lists out and bookmarked your site for the photo references - and any updates ;)

Added a few more series to the database. "The Real West", "US Navy" and "American Civil War" are now available with released/retired information and images. Loaded the Napoleonic data, but need to fill in a few blanks before putting it online. Guess I went after the low hanging fruit first with the other smaller series. Enjoy!

That is great Rich. It will be especially helpful when you upload the Napoleonics. Thanks again for sharing.

The Napoleonics are now up. Using the archived dispatches I was able to piece together the released and retired dates pretty accurately. Still, if anyone notes an error drop me a line. For some odd reason I'm now feeling compelled to purchase some of these figures. Very nice!

Thanks Rich. I am sure it will be a great resource for many here.

Funny how that happens, isn't it.:D

This is a really useful tool that is easy to use and contains loads of info.
Nice one PanzerPK.

It's so useful it deserves a sticky so it doesn't get lost amongst all the other threads.
