Thanks

All the figures are outside car and there is no fire mate, its just a piece of art on the ad.

I still would like to get this SL set. Must not be a big mover to still be around.

Most of the recent SLs are still available. The Heydrich set is a nice one, but historically inaccurate. There is a long discussion about this on the forum - so I'll leave it at that.

In a nutshell, everything relating to the car is inaccurate. Wrong color, model, license plate. The actual car is now in a museum. There are pictures on google if you want to compare it - someone posted them on the forum - maybe me but I don't know where. I remember we had quite a dust up over this. Bottom line is some don't care it is still a nice set. I passed for the above reasons. Here is one discussion but I recall there were others: http://www.treefrogtreasures.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4710&highlight=heydrich

Thanks for the answer Combat. Seems a little basic research before production would have solved this, eh? After all, one wouldn't have Wittman riding to his demise in a T-38, would one? -- lancer

I think that, inaccuracy notwithstanding, it is worth having and worth the price.

Combat, thanks for the link, I enjoyed reading that entire thread, it provided a glance back into earlier times on the forum.

If there is an issue with a set I think it's good that forum members are made aware of it. After *****sing the different input from members, each of us can make a more knowledgeable buying decision. I decided to buy the set with the knowledge that I could always paint it, but I never did, it's still the original and attractive green and cream.

Didn't no about that thanks for bringing it to my knowledge.

I got this set and thought of it mainly as a stand alone set, however it would also work well with the French resistance fighters.
