Hi Guys,

The latest batch of replies for your consideration…

1. “More Real West?”
At the moment it’s scheduled for later in 09 or early 2010.

2. “And What Exactly Is It?"
A little bit of this and… a little bit of that. You don’t really expect me to tell you… do you?

3. Australian Subjects
All will be revealed in Australia later in July!!!

4. Custom K&C
Ah! Those were the days… alas there are still only 24 hours in the day and 7 days a week and even K&C has to sleep occasionally… so no more little custom jobs.

5. Next Limited Edition
Well, I can guarantee you it ain’t going to be a Berlin Flak Tower… And if anyone else wants to do it… be my guest. Generally speaking K&C tries to produce what most average collectors (me included) can afford and have the space to display. 7 foot U Boats… 40 foot Bismarks… or giant flak towers is far beyond the reach and pocket of the average collector.

6. Pet Projects
Collector’s “pet projects” is also a very dangerous little path for any sensible manufacturer to go down.
As a manufacturer we listen… discuss… evaluate… and analyze all suggestions, demands and requests from collectors both on and off the forum.
Importantly, we also talk to dealers and look at previous sales experience for ourselves and, as far as we can tell, our competitors. Then, and only then, do we take a leap into the unknown… with an educated guess!
Collectors’ own personal enthusiasms are a great thing but they often blind themselves and some makers and lead them into deep, uncharted and very expensive waters!

And that’s my tuppence worth… but then again what do I know?

Best wishes and happy collecting!
Andy C.

Ron,you are the patron Saint of the lost cause!.If you'd been at Little Bighorn i can imagine Custer saying; 'Oh its not as bad as it looks,we'll be fine'!:D

Rob

Please don't get Peck's bad boy started again ;). Although I think it's a great idea, Andy was very definitive that he wouldn't do this.

Uh oh......could this be the start of "Nick Names":D

Andy:

How about an armored troop transport for the GI's...M3A2 with cupola to be specific (with riders). Nice to go with your previous release of M21 and the earlier M16 Quad...and don't forget the Normandy Brits' lorries such as the CMP 15CWT and the AEC Matador.

Thank you
N-P

P.s. Any news on the Dragon Wagon?

Hi Guys,

Here’s the latest batch of replies…
1. SEMINOLES…
To my friend Ron… Sorry Ron, no way… no how… I’m interested in lots of different American Indian Tribes… but Seminoles just ain’t one of them!

2. Various Transport for GI’s and Tommies
Yes and no. The question is yes to which and no to what!

3. North West Frontier
Great subject… just not enough time to do it!!!

4. ORYON Figures
Just a little side note… I first saw ORYON pieces a few years ago in HK in one of our favourite model stores… some very nice detailing but the colours seemed (to my taste) a bit too smoky and the circular bases were a bit off putting. As far as I could ascertain they were not selling that well.
Then, out of the blue, just over a year ago, we rec’d a letter from the manufacturer in Italy wanting to sell the business and his remaining stock. I basically replied “Thanks but no thanks” and heard no more until I subsequently read they had gone out of business.
When I was in Italy and France last year I did see quite a bit of their product in a few model shops.
And that’s that.

5. Happy Birthday Myszka from all of us at K&C. 29 again!

Best wishes and happy collecting!

You have it all wrong, as my great ,great, great ..grandfather Festus Mc Newton ,the famed indian scout told Custer as they approached the village, " HOW MANY INDIANS CAN THERE BE ?" :eek:Look it up, that's what he said..Michael

Ron,

I'll give you credit for stick-to-itiveness. Now, what would the "them" be?

N-P,

Sorry to be a nit-picker but you want the M3A1 halftrack APC. M3A2 was type classified but never entered production. The fact that it got an "M" number versus the "T" number has led to confusion in modelers, etc for many years. It also didn't help that Tamiya somehow chose to do the M3A2 as a model many years ago, but the real thing existed as a few prototypes only.
