For those of us looking to aquire extra special pieces of exceptional quality to add to our collections, I would suggest we will be willing to pay a bit more than $200. I for one am eagerly awaiting the release of the Stug and of the vehicles to follow. First Legion has yet again raised the bar on quality, and yes there is a cost to this.
Regards
Brian
That is not a big question now since it was long ago answered in the original Stug thread. Matt has said it will be somewhere between $300 to $350. He has also said it will be 1/30 scale and is expected to be available for pre-order this month. What is the ballpark price going to be,, $200 + AFV's is getting a little bit out of hand
Matt, Will this Stug III be 1:32 scale or 1:30 scale.....Also do you know when it will be released for purchase?? Thank you
If Dragon can make 1/35 armour for $100.00 + it come with photo etched parts why should the Stug cost $100.00 more
I would say $150.00 would be a fair price for a 1/32 scale tank & then more people would buy into the range
There's a huge market for 1/35 photoetched parts. Lots of product movement. Whatever FL is doing has to be done handmade just for their 100 or whatever units. When Dragon or whoever makes a 1/35 part, they can sell it indefinitely
If you are content with a 1/16 FOV tank then that is what you should buy. These FL productions are much more art pieces than toys, just as the Russian connoisseur figures can be hardly be considered toys.I just think $300/350.00 is a lot of money for a toy tank when you think you can buy a 1/16 FOV King tiger tank for less

To be honest, I don't really understand why this discussion is held.
As another manufacturer would say: buy what you want and if you don't like it, don't buy it.
We would of course all prefer to have our collections as "cheap" as possible, but you cannot have the butter and the price of the butter (French saying).
If you think that it is too expensive, then it might be so, and you probably shouldn't buy it then.
I don't think it is a bargain, but I will still buy it. Why don't I buy less expensive tanks done by other companies - because I don't like them. But many others do. So there we go.
These discussions don't lead anywhere and just spoil the atmosphere of the forum.
Not everyone can afford to buy a Porsche or Ferrari, but is that reason enough for Porsche or Ferrari to sell their cars at the price of a Smart? If FL takes the route it takes - top quality at a slightly higher price - and if their model works (for myslef and many others it does) we should just leave it at that.
When I said that I didin't understand I didn't mean it literally of course - I perfectly understand why the discussion is held.
Let's put it differently - it is fruitless to have such discussions.
No arguments - neither from Matt, myself or yourself - will convince anyone to buy the Stug if he thinks it is too expensive. People that have the tendency to amass quantity over quality, that wait every month for the new releases (of repetitive poses, of re-issued tanks etc) will stick to their routine.
This discussion isn't held in the Aeroart section - but the principle is the same here - quality over quantity at a certain price. If you just collect the Stalingrad range, you don't go broke. If you want to collect all and everything, it is a different ballgame.

Just to add to Steve's emminently reasonable posts, we have many customers who are Aeroart customers who absolutely love our figures and find them extremely inexpensive for the quality. So it all depends on where you're coming from. The bottom line is, if you can't afford it, don't buy it. But that doesn't mean it's not worth it (and in our case probably worth more). If our figures and forthcoming vehicles take people out of their comfort zone, well, we make no apologies for producing products significantly better at insignificantly higher prices.
Actually I don't buy 1/32 tanks by any manufacturer. However, as I have said before, whatever one chooses to call these figures, I find all those that merit the collectible title to be something other than "toys" since that term implies that they will be considered "expendable".The fact is there toy soldiers & because your happy to pay $300.00 for one toy tank does not mean every one else is , if toy soldiers keep going up in price then less people will will join the hobbie
There was much on scale (a bit too much actually) in the original Stug thread but Matt has said the vehicles are accurate 1/30 scale, which given that vehicles are a fixed and knowable actual size is simple to confirm. Whether any given figure is a given scale is much more complicated since you have to assume a figure height and to some extent, a body type (e.g. ecto, meso endo). The short answer appears to be that if K&C vehicles are 1/30, they would be size compatible with this vehicle. The figures do not appear to be so, whatever their scale. For a full discussion I would see the prior thread.I must confess I'm still somewhat confused as to the scale of the Stug model. Is it 1/30 ie compatable with K&C/Figarti etc or is is 1/32 compatable with Britains, Conte, ONWTC etc. The figures (which are superb) which I saw at the London show struck me as more 1/32 and the comparison photos on FL's web site show that their figures are much smaller than K&C's so I assume that the STUG is the same scale ie 1/32.
