Stug III - the big question (1 Viewer)

If you like the Tank, just buy it that is all.

You always can mix scales see pictures attached, I have TigerII from K&C and a few Trumpeter plastic models from 1:32 to 1:35 scale.

The pics are small but IMO its look fine together

Rod.

I must confess I'm still somewhat confused as to the scale of the Stug model. Is it 1/30 ie compatable with K&C/Figarti etc or is is 1/32 compatable with Britains, Conte, ONWTC etc. The figures (which are superb) which I saw at the London show struck me as more 1/32 and the comparison photos on FL's web site show that their figures are much smaller than K&C's so I assume that the STUG is the same scale ie 1/32.

Once more into the breach! :D

The First Legion Stug is 1/30th scale. The First Legion Stug is in scale with First Legion figures as can be seen from the photos below.

Some companies make large figures and small vehicles and I believe this is what has so many people confused about how it is that our vehicles could be compatible in size with some other makers while our figures are not compatible in size. What I will say is what I've already said a few times. Our figures are not compatible with other companies who make larger figures. If their vehicles are 1/30th scale, then our vehicles will be compatible. I don't have anything here with me to do a comparison with, but I do know that our Stug is 1/30th scale. So if their's are too, they'll be compatible (well, in size anyway).

And thanks for the nice words on the figures!

amen. The thing for collectors to realize is that FL is a whole new act. K&C is the industry leader & sets the standard for the others to follow. K&C goes up this year, others go up. K&C goes down in scale this year, others go down. They go up again, etc. However K&C employs artistic license in their product, chiefly figures. They are chubbier & colorful...not drab & thin as in real life. They are very entertaining figures, and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. K&C has responded to the market by making vehicles more accurate as people are more picky with these, but the figures remain a unique style.

FL is bringing the figures in line with the vehicles now...it's a whole new gig. The figs will not mix with K&C figs and their clones. FL figs will look as what you see in historical pictures. Thin & drab. Realistic.

K&C & clones are more artistic & geared toward your inner child.

It's all about whatever turns you on. All is good.

I do not get so hung on scale anymore as opposed to comparative and relative size between mfg. vehicles. K/C vehicle size has been all over the place, even sizing down to 1/32 FOV armor. I have a K/C Stuart with hatches and crew that look like giants and grossly out of scale in the vehicle. My hope is that the size of F/L armor might be close to K/C size, which might tempt me enough to invest in the Stug...Michael

I really dont see what difference it makes. FL figures are on a class on their own, they mix well with with connoisseur figures which are the same in size in most cases and imo FL are of connoisseur quality, mixing them with other manufacturers of lesser quality i'd rather not do.
K&C have their unique style yes, but on realism they are not that great compared to FLs. I certainly wouldn't call realistic 'drab' i call it 'better' it all depends what you want, realistic model soldiers or more toy looking ones.
If you do dio's you want something depicting a real scene with realistic figures,k&c figures dont look anywhere near as good as FLs. K&C make better paper weights with their bulk lol

These are some of the more unusual comments that I have seen in four years of being on this Forum.

I must be missing something, they seem pretty ordinary to me? They seem simply a matter of people expressing their particular observations and preferences and I believe we have seen such statements before with more or less color.

This is to the point. That is exactly what is happening. Evil-willed people have called it the disneyasation of the Second WW.
