Hi Max, The Panzer Meyer is packaged in styrofoam with cable ties, not wire ties, holding the haftrack in place. The flat, plastic ties have cardboard under them to protect the paint on the 251 which is also in a plastic bag. You have to carefully cut the straps, pull them out and then lift the vehicle out of the foam using the plastic bag until you can get hands under the halftrack. Kind of tricky, but it does a nice job of protecting your $200 purchase.:)

Flat plastic cable ties WITH protection, well that should work out ok.

It's better but you have to be very careful. King and Country even put a note in there about it. So you have to be very, very careful.

I for one appreciate the extra care that K&C has put into the Meyer halftrack packaging. The additional design consideration and well thought out packaging system is very evident. :)

The plastic straps are very wide and afford greater stability and therefore less wear and abrasion on the model while it is in transit or storeage. The straps are not too tight and not too loose, as Goldie Locks would say, "these are just right". Double protection between them and the model with cardboard strips and a plastic bag enclosed model are very good methods of eliminating the issues (paint chipping, wear, etc.) associated with the plastic wire ties on other models.

Yes, one must be careful in removing the model from the box, but that is what makes this packaging system work. I think that all of us who mentioned (complained often and loudly) the previous shipping systems ought to thank K&C for this greatly improved packaging and acknowledge the great customer response from the company. I personally don’t have much influence (or at least I don’t see any) with most of the products I purchase and for this rapid change in product to occur right before my eyes is very gratifying to me personally and Andy should be commended for his responsiveness and customer appreciation.
