Hi guys, I got a WSS16 on Ebay about 2 weeks ago, my second, it was for my friend, and I am swapping it for something he has, but he has quite a lot of sets, and I have narrowed it down to three possibilities:

Krupp Truck! - Always liked this set:)

88 Gun - The one which you can buy 2 sets of three different figures for:)

Or...

Panzer Meyer vehicle:)

Just wanted a basic idea of what a WSS16 - Mint condition is worth!:)

Thanks in advance for any info!:D

Cheers for the opinion mate:)
Much appreciated!:D

Always liked the Krupp truck, was the first set I ever saw!:D:eek::cool:

Has anoyone got these three, or even two to compare?:)

I guess you mean WS016 Tank Crew. It's not a set I would have gone after - part of the older K&C. But what to trade for?

Panzer Meyer is a very nice set but can be had on e-bay for about $200. It is not uncommon and IMO doesn't have the panache of Rommel's GREIF.

The 88 gun is a high demand classic. It shows up on e-bay less frequently and sells for about $400. But it looks naked without the crew which will cost another $200-$300. And with the new Figarti winter 88, it may shake loose more of the K7C 88s onto e-bay.

The Krupp truck is very nice. I have seen it but do not have it. It shows up least frequently on e-bay for about $350. I couldn't get one so I substituted with the LAH 079 version. Unfortunately, the soldiers are glued in place.

Hope this helps.

No mate, I meant the Krupp Truck or 88, I can get the two crew sets for £160:)

If your friends wants to take WS 16 for an 88 or Krupp Truck, run, do not walk, to make that deal!

Ok, point taken Brad;)

But in your opinion which is the better set?:)

I'm leaning more and more to the 88!:D

Arnhem44mad, FWIW, the Krupp truck is dark gray and comes with a solid, blue painted windscreen, not clear glass. The figures are an SS driver and 2 riders that have Hitler Youth armbands. Hope this info helps. -- lancer

Thanks mate, I was actually looking for a detailed description, and your's was very detailed, so I thank you!:)

Does anyone have this truck in any dioramas which they could postpics of, it's just to get a good idea of what it coul;d go with:)

Thanks!:D

So....bottom line......would a krupp truck or 88 gun be a fair trade for my WSS16?:)

Go for it Scott.
I'd say you'd be doing well on either of those deals.
The Ws16 is a nice, interesting set, but unless you are looking at keeping sets of older figures for nostalgic reasons, or to show a time line for K&C development over the years, they are not a patch on the nwer sets in terms of quality.

For what its worth I recall a collector asking me about a Krupp truck he had seen on Ebay about 3-4 years ago. At that time it was A$450 which in those days would have bought three Wittmann Tigers.

Ok guys thanks for everything!:)

The other guy dosn't want to swap my WSS16 for a Krupp, or 88, he wants to swap for the Panzer Meyer Halftrack. :)

Is this a fair deal?:)

Same situation Scott. The Panzer Meyer, which I like by the way, barely gets to retail value so it's a great deal.

Barely any of the SLs fetch anything in the after market, the notable exceptions being the Winter Tiger, the Rommel car and the Tunisian Tiger. If you're going to make something truly limited, do it like Figarti does.
