What is the most thought provoking purchase that you've made?

You can choose any era, any figure, any structure or any vehicle.

It can be his pose, his expression, the paint job.........whatever reason you choose........what piece makes you "think the hardest" when you look at it?

What piece do you look at........that really defines it's era?

The piece that tells the "best story" in your mind.

This guy pushes all my buttons.

I love his pose, his painting and all the accessories of the spoils of battle he carries with him.

K&C BR051.

To me, he stirs a certain uneasy feeling about the brutality and savagery of the French Indian War.

So grim.....so brutal.....so direct.....so intense.

Looking at him, I can almost imagine the dead soldiers that contributed to his commandeered baggage.

The British hat, the British coat, the British flag used for a saddle, his painted face, the 5 rifles, the canteens, the back packs, the satchels.

Every time I look at him, I think of the British soldiers that laid dead, while he plundered their equipment.

Which figure pushes your buttons?

My favorite item is the VN05 M113 Personnel Carrier. It was long retired when I first saw it, but everytime I saw a picture, or caught a glimpse of one I new I had to find one. The packs hanging off the side, rolls of barbed wire,
the muddy rusted finish all added to its realism.

I enjoy looking at it every day and was very pleased when I was able to add
a pair of them to my collection!

By far Conte Collectibles "The Sarge", he's basically all firepower and Cuban cigar chomping!:D Carrying a Luger, M1 Garand ammo bandolier, Thompson Submachine Gun Model 1921 w/ 50 round drum in one hand and MP40 in the other!:cool: When I look at him his story tells me he grew up in Brooklyn, he's a proud to be a fighten Irish, most likely an ex-proffesional boxer or football player, rose quickly in the ranks, and is the idealistic NCO!

I own a lot of toy soldiers, but for some reason the Conte ACW set "Hold The Ground At All Hazards" featuring figures of Colonel Strong Vincent directing Joshua Chamberlain to prepare the defense of Little Round Top on July 2, 1863. Every time I look at it I think of what is about to come for both men. Chamberlain becomes a hero, and Vincent will be dead shortly.

I like how you characterized him...you might be spot on...he looks tough.

Those are good poses...you just kind of wonder what strategy they are planning.

My favorite are these old paratroopers. When I first got them, I thought they were the most beautiful WWII soldiers, with alot of equipment on them. They look ready for combat. When I had a hard day, I'd look at these soldiers and think, "my hard day was nothing compared to a soldier in combat". These soldiers alway put my life in perspective.

I wouldn't want to meet this guy in a dark alley. I never saw Sgt. Saunders fire a M-21 Thompson with one hand! -- lancer

Oh you could do it......at least the first burst. Hit what you were aiming at...

now thats a different story.:D

One could always say that they were providing AA fire against all the 109's buzzing around.:D I do remember a scene in "Miller's Crossing" where some one-handed Tommy gun shooting resulted in a very shot up bedroom, amongst other things...

John, I claim artistic license!:D;) But from what I understand he hit for what he was aiming, it may have took a few drums, but he hit it!:p Also notice the tattoo on the arm, I call him, "Lucky" Jack O'Hagan!

Fair enough! He certainly is a thought provoking figure!:D

For me it's this set by WB

When you look at the figure you can see the terror in his eyes as he knows he is not long for this world. On can almost feel him struggling and squirming.

Scott...that is definitely a "stirring" set. That one makes you think.

If it existed, it would sum everything up in terms of warfare for me!
Sorry to stray,Michael from your existing quest\

It's nothing that I purchased, it's not a figure, it's this.

The story behind this pin is tragic, all to common and had ramifications well into the future for his family.
