I agree. Would love to see an AWI one on the crossing of the Delaware!
That would be coolBut how do you tie in a Santa figure?
Did Santa as we know him exist back in 1776? Randy you would probably be able to answer this. When do we first start to see the man in red with a white beard in art and literature?
For the US---the 19th C
The poem by Clement Clarke Moore "A Visit from St. Nicholas" (aka"Twas the Night Before Christmas) in 1823
From the illustrations of Thomas Nast--1863 and 1881 respectively (note in the 1863 image he is patriotic like Uncle Sam with stars and stripes)
No surprises from me, but I'd like to see a Christmas set with our armed force's current deployments, Afghanistan 2009.

Just British or all serving nations??
How about Commando Santa.
Sorry couldn't help my self but the Idea of Santa in a desert camo suit handing out gifts would be awesome
How about a cute little Wolf's Lair Christmas scene. You could have the whole gang there. Himmler, Goebbles Adolf all singing "Stilte Nacht"
On second thoughts maybe not.
Joking aside I think your idea of Christmas in Afghanistan would be really good. You could have quite an international appeal and try and represent all the nations with soldiers in Afghanistan. There would be Santa an American Marine a British Highlander, a Dutch soldier and French Foreign Legion trooper, as well as a Gurkha.
It would be a great set.
I don't think it's any secret that I'd like to see more 'Modern' sets produced, so I may be slightly biased, but I agree, I think there's the potential for wide spread appeal, not only to the traditional collector market, but perhaps expanding further.
It would appeal to many markets if you tried to include all the nations with major contributions and be an excuse to portray a few unusualy uniforms. Don't the Italians have some troops there. A Bergsalieri would be really cool.
