Just curious if anyone picked up this set and any opinions. Also, do the maps shown in the picture come with the set? The one that I looked at had two small maps in English from a WWI battle. Not sure if the dealer just stuck those in or if they are the maps that come with the set.

My dealer has WS135 for me ..but had to back order WS 136 and WS137..I have not heard to much about the set my self......will give my opinion ounce I receive all my sets...

Two large paper maps come with the set.
I like it, but wish the table were larger and not so gloss.
I'd recommend the three sets.

I have the other 2-figure set on order.

Donnie

PS: One of the figures in the SL set is missing a hand and an eye so you should be able to get it for a good price.

About the maps - Hitler is going to be real upset about this because both maps although different are of East Prussia 1914, Battle of Tannenberg.

Those are the ones that I saw and written in English! I thought maybe the dealer had printed them up. Bizarre.

Yea I noticed that with the maps. It is a big error but afraid there wont be nothing done about that. Still a really nice set!

I have it with both add on sets and I like it a lot. I have it sitting in a seperate display and it really looks nice!:)

If the maps are such a problem do something about it,a MINOR detail for a great set and like ive always said if you dont like DONT buy it..........huh the maps wrong wow, whoopee do its the best hitler figure and his mates!!! unbelieveable the maps wrong.......gee its that unimportant IT DOSENT MATTER..............sometime i wish you could swear on here.............

Its just another one of those tiny things that can change History isn't it,if it hadn't been for that darn table leg hundreds of thousands of lives could have been saved and huge human misery avoided.Looks a fantastic set, couldn't get it though, too many other financial distractions i'm afraid.

Let's see. This set costs $160 and it comes with maps that depict the wrong war and language. Very easy to get that right. How about KC does something about it since we are paying them? If I wanted to make my own accessories I would go into the toy soldier business.

I have always believed that things happen for a reason. Perhaps if he would

have been killed, and the result had been different, it might have lead to a

WWIII!

That would have been an unimaginable disaster!.No way i could afford to collect WW2 and WW3!!!:D

Heres another thought......we could have been blown back into the stoneage

and all been sitting around collecting rocks and passing notes across the

ocean like they do in BC.:)

Cheaper to go into the map making business...............:D

Let's imagine this one...

Germany, the US and USSR all working to get the bomb at the same time.

WWII breaks out and Hitler is eventually killed off leaving a functioning German government still researching and working on that bomb.

Generally, WWII ends but now there is an arms race amongst three nations who have deep animosity towards each other, economic difficulties breaching the US economy again, Germany returning to depression and the USSR is starving.

Suddenly two out of three start testing the newly created bomb successfully and the third succeeds in long range missile delivery.

Hate to say it but WWII happened at the right time with many of the right results - even with the close call, two or three we've had.

Who's going to write this script??? Should I try to copyright it? :D

I sold my last one of these today and only looked at the map for the first time. At that size I could see it looked like the right location on the map but to be sure you would have to use a magnifying glass. Anyway can anybody say that Adolf never looked at a non WWII map during WWII ?

Not to belabor this point, but the map is clearly written in English. In the lower right-hand corner is a box which states (in english) that it depicts "East Prussia, 1914 Battle of Tanneberg." Would Hitler be reading such a map on July 20, 1944. Nada. Is it likely that he ever read such a map? Nada. Does that matter to everyone? Probably not. It is just a very dumb and avoidable mistake by KC in an otherwise great set.
