Well, tough question due to ebay's inane rule regarding ww2 german items which gets the item pulled often. That said, there are 2 versions, yours original red box was the first version, the later and harder to find version came in the grey lah box. The only difference is the boxes, but as we are all unique collectors, the grey box will fetch a higher amount depending on whos bidding. All in all, I have seen them consistently sell in the 300 to 400 range. High bid I saw on a gray new in box was 550. Low bid I saw on an unboxed one was 250.

Funny thing is, the red box is a nice overall box!

Hope that helps

I do appreciate your response, yes it was very helpful! I have some other items in the grey box and the drum horse in the red box. The red box itself is how I think all K&C items should be shipped...these boxes are far superior over the grey boxes IMO. I also do not favor K&C's current boxes they are too fragile and seem abit too toyish...I personally like the ritsy look of the red box and it's super strong structure, it seems to add value all by itself. I personally would pay $20 more per item if they offered a preference box option???

In the past I have sold some older LAH items and I have found people prefer the red and black boxes. One set in particular with the red/black box sold for double what the gray one sold for.

Andy,
there was a limited Xmas LAH box sets that came in the red boxes, is that what you are referring to?

As for the Drum Horse, the sales are the opposite that I have seen. I agree I like the red box better, but for some reason on the drum horse (at least what I kept track of), that is not the case.

The box I have is a Black bottom and Red top and I believe it says 1897 on the top for a date...very fancy looking. Is this a Limited Xmas set?

It was a LAH32 band set with black/red box went for double what the same set in a grey box went for. I was shocked.
