What is your favourite King and Country set ever that you have or havn't got?
My favourite set is AN06 Recce Jeep from the Arnhem44 Range.

My favorite K&C set that I presently have is a toss up between:

(1) The 30 Corps Wood Sherman Tank. The detailing is just spectacular, the turret hatches are hinged to open and close, and it really looks great with the other Arnhem sets.

(2) The Bristol Beaufighter Torpedo Bomber in RAF Coastal Command markings. Everything else about this plane is just so perfectly executed (right down to the structure of the landing gear and the cooling holes in the barrel of the machine gun extending from the rear turret) that it is very easy to overlook the painted on cockpit glass.

My favorite K&C set that I don't have would have to be the "Les Miserables" figures K&C produced for the Hong Kong opening of the musical in 1996. From the photographs I have seen, the figures look to be the best sculpted and painted glossy figures K&C ever produced. They are a perfect duplicate of the charachters depicted in the poster for the musical.

My favorite is my wooden Spitfire with the ground crew and the First of the Few set (although I suppose that's 3 sets).

What I don't have but would like to is the British Ambulance, fuel bowser or more wooden airplanes. However, I'm unlikely to get any of those.

LOOKS BRILLIANT!!! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY WERE MADE?

Methinks its time for another Quote from the book (which is now less than one chapter from having a complete first draft of the text):

"The 30 Corps. Sherman is one of the Author’s favorite K&C vehicles. It is extremely well carved and appointed with metal details, finished in dark green with British 30 Corps. markings, including yellow triangles on the sides of the Chassis. The commander’s hatch has two hinged half covers with open, and there is an antenna mounted to the rear of and a Vicker’s machinegun mounted in front of the commander’s hatch. The 75mm main gun, however, does not elevate. The vehicle comes with the ¾ figure described with the Bren Gun Carrier above. This vehicle, designated TK010, originally retailed for $346. Less than 50 of these vehicles were produced."

My favorite set of figures is the "Italian Patrol" from the AK series. Very stylish - wish KC would do more of these non-German sets.

My favorite vehicle is either the Wittmann Tiger 007 or the King Tiger (repainted) version. The "Puma" is nice as well.

Anyone getting the impression that sales of new KC sets has been very slow? That is my conclusion when I make the rounds.

My all time favorite set hands down is WS 43, a beautiful tank. A very close second is WS 58, I love that patrol and it looks superb set up alongside the WS 43..................

Just about all of the airborne combat sets - any time period of K&C production.

No matter what the sculpting was like - primitive or advanced - it's the movement of the figures I find so appealing. Also, GI patrol where all four figures are looking in different directions and in various stages of "Snooping" around.

I have a revolving favourites policy  .
But the one piece I look at the most is probably the ambulance jeep
set.My favourite figure set would probably be the tommy patrol or
Napoleonic black watch figures.

My favorite figures are the American Revolution British infantry figures. Besides having wonderful sculpturing, the group fit together well to show a complete attacking troop formation. All the necessary people are included, the front rank BR-39, the second rank, BR-38, the shouting sergeants, the officers, the drummers, and the two required flags. Even a mounted officer is included.

K & C is the best company I know for supplying figure that when put together are able to tell a story or show a complete scene. Often K & C will release a wonderful figure, but not release other figures to support them. An example comes to mind, the new Mexican figure standing at attention. Actually two versions have been made with and without a moustache. However, a standing flag bearer, officer, drummer and sergeant are all lacking. Maybe this need will be meet with future releases.

Boy There Are So Many, The Winter 88 And Crew Is A Great Earlier Piece, While I Love The 8th Army Austalians Anddd25

I've always liked the Winter Tiger set (WS070SL). The main reason being it wasn't based on the common action poses you often see but rather displayed a crew gathered casually around a camp fire awaiting their meal. I recall it being in a cabinet in my local K & C store and the owner recommending I buy it. I didn't know much about K & C at the time and despite the attractive poses and nicely weathered tank those tracks just put me off. Which of course may partly explain my subsequent over active criticism of those darn K & C tank tracks :)

My favourite set that I actually have is the 10.5 cm Field Gun set (AK 27) which fits in nicely with my mainly Britains Artillery collection.

Gentle Friends,

It is impossible for me to indicate an all time favorite among the K & C offerings. There are simply too many of them. However, among the figures/vehicles/sets I own, there are two that constitute my absolute favorites. The are:

The Winter Tiger set (WSO70SL): I love the detailing and the crew that accompany the tank.

and

The Prince of Egypt Chariot Set (AE03): This set belongs to the Ancient Egyptians line and I love the grandeur displayed by the Pharoah and his chariot. And,...Oz,...I do not think the horses included in this set look like camels! :)

Warmest personal regards,

Pat

Pretty difficult to chose just one, but if I had to pin it down it would have be the set that drew me to K&C in first place, WS-70SL the Winter Tiger. The awesome tiger tank in winter camo and the great crew figures gathered around the little cook fire, it's a mini diorama all on it's own. For figure sets I'd have hard time arguing with George's WS-58 The New Fighting Patrol, but the The Winter Patrol is pretty nice too. That said, ask me again what my favorite set is after the M10 Tank Destroyer comes out, there may be a new one on my list.:)
