Firebat,

I thought most of us on the forum have been very supportive of your dioramas. You've had tons of compliments on them. There are, however, some people with limited space who just can't do dioramas, or people who just prefer to display their figures in other ways. I for one, as the owner of 12 custom made K&C dioramas, have always prefered dioramas to display my figures.

Let me say right up front I was never one of those that joined in the "get real" vs the "status quo" argument. Everyone has the right to their own opinion and the right to display their collection the way they see fit. If someone wants to display their figures and vehicles on a shelf, what the ....'s wrong with that, maybe that "is" all they room for. knocking someone for doing that is every bit as whacked out as what you say you're being chastized for. Why don't you get real and dump the complex!

I don't do dioramas to be complemented for them, I don't care how you display your soldiers and as you can see I don't post Dioramas as much as I used to, because I can see the interest is not there. My point is how come everyone is so excited that King and Country is going to do diorama projects now?... when the above excuses were given as a reason of Dioramas being a non important entity in this hobby.

I brought my dioramas to my own little corner of the hobby world to be viewed by only those who are interested, and I don't bother anyone over here any more.

None of your rebuttals answered my question. You just get nasty as usual, gang up and spew BS. Louis is the only one who made any sense. I know there is no love loss between us but at least be fair. Firebat

Alex,
I don't think anyone here has been critical of your dioramas to be honest, but maybe I am wrong. The ones Louis are referring to are custom designed by Gordon and are true works of art, not to say yours are not. His are more static displays while yours incorporate muzzle blasts, smoke, etc, almost a movie still so to speak.

It is apples vs oranges, both your dioramas and his are excellent in their own right. I am a huge fan of his work as well as yours, your recent factory diorama using the NMA Sturmtigers and Nick's buildings is terrific, but huge. Gordon's dioramas are usually about two feet by two feet. Louis does have some that are much bigger as well...........

No one still has answered my question..........This has nothing to do with King and Country Versus Battle Scene Productions. My question remains unanswered. Dioramas VS. no Dioramas in General, is my question. We like our soldiers in Dioramas, most of you rebutted us on this point of view in the past. I quote....No room..takes away from the soldiers etc. But now that King and Country says Dioramas are OK, everyone is all of a sudden excited about them. I guess everyone is building extensions on their house to fit them now.

NJJA thanks for a another nice shot. Get that addition started, K&C will be soaking you good for all of those new dioramas you are going to by.

Don't bother answering my question, it is not important, enjoy your conversation about how much you enjoy dioramas. You know where you can see ours if you care to. Firebat

No smoke no mirrors, pure detail.......................

Simple answer is some people like dioramas, some people do not.

When you ask why people are into Andy or Gordons dioramas vs yours .....

you are just being plain silly.

Should you ever become as established in the marketplace as King &

Country perhaps then you could compair your work to theirs.

I reciently had the good fortune of picking up my first original

King & Country diorama and I am very pleased with it.

Firebat, Relax, everyone likes your dioramas, but you'll be horribly crushed if you think you'll ever get approval equal too or surpasing the raves to K&C from the mindless zombie coolaid drinkers on this forum.

You must need glasses, where do you see me comparing my work to theirs. I will say it for the third time. Most of said you don't like dioramas now you like them. I am happy you do. Another case closed. Firebat

FIREBAT, your act is getting old and tiresome. This has never been about you versus the world, but quite frankly, you tend to overwhelm every discussion with your me ,myself and I attitude. This and other forums have gotton along without your type, all these years. We do not owe you our undivided attention, our constant neverending approval, or hearing you tell us how important you are to the toy soldier world ,as we now know it. Your dioramas are excellent and you are very talented ,but you tend to put off adults, with your divisive antics. Had you come onto this scene in a more thoughtful and humble manner, the get real movement might have merited some real discussion, instead of it becoming annoying to most. I was like you once. Did not think anyone could get along without me, till they moved on and left me........Michael

Right on the money, Michael. His posts are just meant to push everybody's buttons and stir things up so he can come back with his childess replies of "everyone's ganging up on me", "getting nasty" and my personal favorite "spewing BS" blah, blah I, me, my, mine, "everybody hated dioramas before".....now "everybody likes them" give me a break!...... well mission accomplished. Pat yourself on the back again, Firebat, you must be pretty good at it by now you've done it so often. What a great marketing strategy, make dioramas to sell to toy soldier collectors then put posts on a toy soldier forum that torque everbody off, brilliant concept. Excuse, I need a drink of kool aid.

Dear Alex,

Since you ask, the issue that some forum members had with your previous posts was not diorama vs. no diorama in general; it appeared to be the posts that showed a photo of a section of one of your dioramas and stating that the full diorama would soon be available on another site. There were several of these posts, then several posts announcing the various sites that had your work. In a previous post, I told you I did not personally care about these posts, but explained how it could be interpreted as aggressive advertising. Some of the comments you copied in the first quote above really involve the style of your previous posts, not dioramas. Also, many of the members posting positive comments on this thread were not the ones posting critical comments about dioramas to you.:)

Hmmmmmm I would say that about covers that!
