Guys, check out the new Crimea stuff on K&C UK website. Some cool looking new stuff. Really like the Cold Stream Guards!

Rob

I've been waiting for the TRL Flagbearer since the initial release and with Nolan are a buy waiting to happen at the London Show. Like the Coldstream Guards but can't get into another sub-line.

Good releases all in all.

Rob are you a convert yet?

Andy

Hi Andy

Have got lots of the charge but none of the TRL yet.

But by the looks of the I think I will join the fray!

Rob

I'm not going to say that I fully expected a response from a fellow Otto-lover(?) when I wrote it but.........

I can't go for the U-boat, there is just too many other priorities out there.

It's a sleeper.
You'll wake up one morning in a few months time with an incredable urge to go and throw money at K&C's doors, and then you'll be the proud owner of your own mini navy. :)

Simon,

That's every morning, but sanity usually wins out. Plus the fact that the wife and kid are already on water and stale bread, with marge on Sundays is a clincher (maybe I could save on the marge).

So have you got Otto and friends yet or are you going to be the latest member of the Crimean club.

Ooops, I've already jacked Rob's thread (sorry mate!).
Not yet succumbed to Otto + tub. Need to get to the point where we've got marge available again.
As for the Crimea, I'd love to, but I've got too many ranges / eras that I'm juggling with at the moment. Although they are some seriously nice looking pieces.

The 93rd Highlander Officer Flag Bearer and CG drummer boy are absolutely stunning. Excellent just what I need another range to collect!

If you start giving them marge they will start taking liberties with your generosity.

You're right, no marge.
Just 93rd and Spam.

Some really nice figures for the June release and I will have to get them. I have just managed to complete the whole range this week.

If Tony reads this, Russian Infantry are desperately needed as reinforcements, December perhaps?

The only downside is the near 15% price increase since last December.

Jeff

Thanks for the advice guys, marge at christmas only (and then only when it falls on a Sunday). Who needs agony aunts when you have clan Brit Treefrog.

Prices have increased but then the £/$ has slipped, but looks like it is now on the up turn (for us Brits anyway).

Jeff, where are you going to place Nolan? With the charge at impact, separately or get the largest order of grass matting from JG miniatures that has ever been known for a 1/30 scale charge. I think I'll place him at impact just to improve my display I also need the Trumpeter and a couple more Russian inf.

With the bulk of the Britains Sudan/Zulu War series coming in after the June show, I think this is my chance to grab the stragglers in this series. It will also be interesting to see what comes out in December, I would like a downed Lancer and a Russian artilleryman slumped over a cannon but we will see.

Simon, agree there is a lot out there at the moment with a lot more about to descend. I think the December show will be really bad for choice. I've heard about this plan about only bringing cash to spend at the show - I might just do that.;)

Good plan. It's bound to work. Obviously, you'll have to have a card or two handy, but only for use in emergencies, not, I repeat not, for toy soldier purchases. As long as you've got more willpower than a 10 day old lettuce, you'll be fine. ;)

Cheers
Simon

If you leave your cards at home, your better half will be tempted to use them to buy food and clothes. Don't put temptation in front of them, it'll be kinder if you maxed your cards out at the show.

Just been having another look, love the flag carrying guard and the kneeling firing figure, yep might start this collection in London in June:)

Rob

Having looked at these new models im very tempted to start collecting this line, but i dont think my girlfriend can take any more of my collecting. She has been keeping a list of what comes and goes through the door and i have run out of hiding places for my loot. I tried to keep to new releases and not buy anything that had been retired but i managed to pick up some early d-day stuff and have started collecting club figures and kingsx club figures.

For me it is hard but i will have to sit this one out, i know i will be sorry but its either crimea line or beans on toast for the next 6 years haha.
