Hi all,
Can anyone tell me if the Little Legion website shows their entire range available, or are there some sets that are not listed online? And related question: does little legion take custom painting orders? For instance, if I wanted Sudan highlanders in red tunics or 24th foot in khaki helmets, is that something they could do?
I'm curious because I think I may have to delve into the LL world (epically those camels) after looking at everyone's great collections!
Cheers,
Sam

Hi Sam

Contact Mike Norris at LL, he is a great guy who will do his best to sort out your requirements. The Camels are great, I have a few to collect on Saturday at the London Show;)

Cheers

Martyn:)

Yes, he will customize your requests up to a point. I ordered a couple of sets of Sudan highlanders done as Cameroon Highlanders w/red tunics instead of Blackwatch in tan tunics.

I did ask him for a list of products in the Sudan range, and the list matched what was on the website. And yes .... their camels are great!!

There are many sets that are not listed online, at least when it comes to Napoleonics. Maybe getting the catalog would be a good idea...

Thanks Gentlemen. I'll get my hands on a catalog. And Martyn, do tell us what you find at the London Show on Saturday!

Sam

Many sets are not listed on the website, but they are listed in the catalog.

This is probably a matter of opinion, but being in the states, should I contact Paul Herrmann of the Toy Soldier Shoppe for LL, or should I go right to Mike Norris in Wales?
Thanks,
Sam

Best to deal direct with Mike, after all he is the only one to know everything about the range and what he is prepared to do to help you. He is a very nice guy who will do his best to accomodate your wishes.

Where does one get a catalog?

Do you know what these sets are marked with red dots? They are not on the LL website? I especially like the set with the drummer.

I would start collecting LL again if there was some easier way to do it. Paul told me that it would be too expensive for me to order directly from Mike because of the high British postage fees. I really would like to continue to develop a glossy Sudan collection and LL seems to be expanding this subject.

Hello Brian,

Can you post scans of catalog here, please (if you have one)?...It could be a big help...

Al

The red dots must be from my camera. The last catalog I have is a few years old. You can order a catalog from LL.

I am not sure if he has one for 2010 yet.

I have not purchased any LL in some time, but have gone both routes in the past. Being in the States you may want to buy through Paul. I used to give him pretty specific requests and he would tell me if Mike could or would do it and then my stuff would show up with his next quarterly order usually. Dealing directly with Mike on a couple of things actually took longer I suspect because he was getting his dealers squared away and also getting ready for shows and then there is the postage to consider. I guess I'd buy through Paul in the future. Hope that helps. :)

I added the red dots to show the sets I am interested in knowing about:)

I have spoken to Mike Norris this morning and here are the answers to most of the questions

1. Randy – The 3 sets you asked about are L-R

Sussex Regiment – These are standard 24th figures specially painted for the Toy Soldier Shoppe, but can be painted to order

Charging Camel Corps with drummer

Gordon Highlanders

2. Dhow is progressing well, there are 5 figures + gun and it will be available in June at the London Show cost approx £265

3. The sole US distributor is the Toy Soldier Shoppe and this will remain so.

4. At any one time the maximum people working for LL is 6 which includes Mike and his wife

5. The website is updated by Mike when ever he gets the chance and is more up to date than a printed catalogue

Hope the above helps, please email Mike with any special requests or you can phone him between 0900hrs and 1700hrs UK time he is very happy to discuss special requirements

Cheers

Martyn:)

Thanks Martyn

Do you have the CC set with the drummer? If so can you post pictures?

Does Mike sell single figures?

Randy

Hi Randy

Sorry, I don't have that CC set, I've attached a couple of pictures taken at the London Show in March

Mike does sell single figures

Thanks to everyone for further questions and answers. Being a yank I'll probably try going through Toy Soldier Shoppe first ~drools when thinking about camel corps~
Cheers,
Sam
