I sold all my plastic model kits to a local hobby shop here in AZ...and it included a 1/32 scale version of the strong point. It was molded in beige color. I would not recommend it. The walls are wafer thin. The closest you can get to this is the Conte Normandy Farm House (3 piece set). It looks similar to the airfix model; and is 1/30 in scale. Check with George Guerriero of Minutemen, he may still have it

I was cleaning up my attic and guess what?

I found a second Airfix Command Post in 1/32 that missed the sale. I'll check it out for any missing parts and post some pictures tomorrow. The box is kind of distressed with tape and with tape marks. I'll swap it with a single KC or HB, TG figure. PM me if interested.

I remember this from many years ago. The basic molding is quite good, but as mentioned before the walls are about .030 thick, so the effect is lost. I wish Airfix had gone for the couple extra bucks it would have taken to mold the walls with "thickness". The walls can be thickened, but it will take some time and effort.

Really a nice little building.

Beggars can't be chosers. That Airfix strongpoint is an important part of my old collection.

In my childhood (first, second and third) the strongpoint played an important part in my skirmishes and grande armee battles of WWII. As it was I had to wait until someone brought it back from overseas.

I love the sniper firing point in the roof and I wish modern manufacturers would take note of some of the features of the old releases. IMHO the firing steps in many of the two storey Build- A- Rama buildings are not wide enough to allow all the activity that could be going on.

Alas I am out of skirmishing room but I know that the strongpoint is still there.... somewhere....... safe.

Lovely set and I still have one boxed in the attic somewhere along with a lot of airfix coastal batteries and bunker sets and, the original airfix sets of WWII figures. Still think the best sets were the US paratroopers and, the British assault set with loose machine guns. It will be nice one day to have these down and build them and, maybe, paint the figures.

A quick trip down memory lane and, I am not that old!!
