With talk recently about the rise in value of certain sets,I see the RAF ambulance has now sold out at K&C UK. With only 250 made so far surely this is a big step to this baby disappearing altogether. I'm really pleased to see this because its one of the things people have been asking Andy to make for ages and here it is, and collectors have responded in a very positive way.

And making it for ' Biggin on the Bump' is a great idea:cool:

The questions now are, will it go up in value and will Andy make more if all the 250 sell out?. Its funny because in one way I like the kind of exclusive tag of this vehicle, but in another way its so cool I'd like anyone who wants one to be able to grab it, what do you reckon guys?.

I like it when the sets stay at the run they announce and, for those who get this set its a nice added bonus that the exclusivity factor remains. IMO

I have got my order in ! :)

I really like the RAF series - although I worry about how I am going to display all these K&C Planes that are going to be coming out of this range !!!

Yes 'Airspace' is a question for this range, but I'll squeeze them in somehow;)

I see TF say they managed to get a few more of these, suggesting that the original batch has gone, looks like you got your order in just in time Ron.

As previously mentioned, they reserved the right to make more than 250 so I wouldn't be surprised to see more being made.

Would 250 make it it one of the lowest production runs of the last few years then?.

Did you mean "would" expect more to be made. K&C have done that before with the long barreled Stug, landing craft, Char B bis tank, King Tiger. I'm sure there were a few more. As long as there is no (SL) numbering, their sets are not limited.

Terry

Sorry, too much of a hurry. I've edited my own my post to say I wouldn't be surprised to seeing more made.

I wonder if the next RAF vehicle Andy mentioned for September will also be produced in small numbers?.

This ambulance is truly a great release. I want the Olive version as it will fit my current collection the best. The Olive version fits with the D-Day Brit medic and the FOB stretcher bearer pieces. Once upon I time I might have bought the RAF version simply due to it limited number as an investment speculation however not in this market so I'll pass on it and make money elsewhere.

CFM....

So, your the collector who is hoarding all of these sets and, trying to make money!!!!lol

I think from the three and, I have had a good look at them the desert version IMO is the best. I would have liked to have seen it as a SL with Mills et al on foot looking for mines.

That would have taken some beating as a set

So far I have the Desert version and the RAF on preorder,I thought the Desert version best but I think the RAF just pips it to the post for me.

I have both the desert and olive version, I have not yet got the RAF one, I was too late.................I want two for my convoy and airfield:eek:

Nobody in the know seems to think more of the RAF will be made so, thats a nice thing. I think we can be sure there will be a lot more RAF vehicles in the very near future

I have both the desert version and the olive one. I like the olive one better with my Fields of Battle collection so I am keeping that one. Even though I have a lot of North Afrika pieces, I will sell that one. As I am not collecting aircraft, no need for the new one.

Terry

I am more european theatre than Desert myself but, for some reason I just really like the desert one maybe, its the connection to Ice cold but, see why you like the olive one

It's not that I don't like the desert version, and one of my largest ranges is North Afrika. It's just that I have no room for duplicates, so one has to go. And I have a lot more North Afrika AFVs to display than Fields of Battle.

Yes there is definitely something different about this Ambulance, maybe its the 'Ice Cold ' connection but it really is a cool looking vehicle,if I didn't have any othe NA stuff I'd want this as a stand alone set. I think I will get the FOB version in time and have the full set.

Rob

Its a great set and glad I got one hopefully, we may get a set of figures which will add to it down the line, fingers crossed

I assume you mean Ice Cold in Alex? I remember Andy writing about that awhile ago.
