You all already know that some Lighthorse are coming. Andy has made a special figure for the Australia trip. He won't leave that one man all alone. Where there is smoke, there is fire and the Lighthorse will be coming to put it out.:D -- lancer

Please vote if you hvae not already.
As we all know the next years production is all Aussie stuff !!!!
Regards
Brett

Pacific and Kokoda for me please, would like the lot to be honest!

Cheers.

Having lived in Turkey for a couple of years and been to the battlefield it's got to be Gallipoli for me.

North Africa World War Two was a close Second in popularity to The Lighthorse/Beersheba.

I hope Andy is considering some more Aussies to help out in the 8th Army range.

I find the lack of interest in the Australians on the Westfront somewhat odd. The Australian divisions, along with the Canadians, were the backbone and the chosen elite assault troops for the Empire's war effort for most of the last months of the war. These troops were thrown in again and again and suffered great loss. They deserve to be represented. -- Al

Good point Al, sets of Aussies in slouch hats and New Zealanders in Lemon squeezer hats would add some interest to the exisiting World War One range.

On a more personal level I'm especially pleased to see the demand for World War One with the Aussie charge at BEERSHEBA because my Grandfather was in the 12th Australian Light Horse which formed part of the charge. He didn't actually participate in the charge as he was in the ALH Military Mounted Police by that stage in the war and was mighty annoyed to have missed out on the LAST CAVALRY CHARGE IN HISTORY but he was there in spirit ;)

Oz,

As a note, my great uncle Les Coley was in the 12th Light Horse also (he was 16 years old when he landed at ANZAC). His brother LCPL Harry Coley was regrettably killed during the charge. I like that K&C has ventured into the Light Horse arena. Alby

I think the trouble with WW1 in France, is that with the mud and considerable uniformity of uniform - in particular helmets, it's hard to produce a range of figures that clearly represent a particular nationality.

Good points. I think the Australian unit insignia is very distinctive and would help ID the troops, to we rivet counters, anyhow. Also, as mentioned, the world famous slouch hats made their appearance when out of the lines thus lending easy ID to behind the line scenarios, or artillery dios. Anyway, the ANZAC presence should be represented. -- Al

Yeah, let's hope Andy "represents" :D

Well, we certainly got some Beersheba sets and some new Aussies in North Africa, but what about some Aussies (and others) in the Pacific? I know the Pacific wasn't as popular as some theaters but maybe it's time King and Country released some more Pacific sets.

Talk about bringing up old polls..:wink2: but I will always go for Great War Western Front A.I.F first followed by all the rest in any order...:)
Wayne.
