And I'm quite happy with it! It looks to me like what it claims to be. The detail seems nice and this tank belongs in a number of WW2 scenes. Even with the minor initial confusion over the price I'm glad I got one.

Thank you to Andy and his crew.

It will be a day or so, I'm hoping to go to the airshow at Offutt AFB tommorrow, so I will be taking different photos!

Can anyone post photos of their new panther? Really interested to see pics of the new panther from different angles and natural lighting.

Mike

They have not yet hit the UK so, it would be nice to see someone's pics

Mine's been here for a week, along with the raupenthingy :)))
But, dagnabbit, I have not been able to get close to them as I am 'getting' them for Father's Day.
I will post pics asap...

Sorry, it's been a week since I promised the photos. Here are some. Sorry they came out so small, but I used the automatic "compress" feature to reduce them to a size that the forum can handle.

The photos compare the new Panther A with the WS072 Panther G and the Honour Bound "knocked out" Panther.

The new Panther is a good looking model. Better than the older WS72 if for no other reason than the new one doesn't have the side skirts which hides the Panthers sleek lines. Nice aquisition, Gary. -- Al

Thanks for the pics Binder001. That new Panther looks really good and seems similar in size and colour. I've noticed more details on the newer version, just not sure if that's because its a different model Panther than WS072. Trying to choose between them is tough but I'm leaning towards the older version because it has the side skirts, more figures, a variety of road wheels and was 1/2 the price of the newer version! ;)

You are correct. The 2 Panthers are different Ausf. so there are some differences because of that. The WS072 is an Ausf G and the new model is an Ausf A. The Ausf A was the most common Panther in Normandy, but the Ausf G was the most produced Panther. The order of production of the Panther Ausf was Ausf D1, Ausf D2, Ausf A, Ausf G and Ausf F.:rolleyes:

I don't know what WS072 would cost today but I bet it is more than half the cost of the new model.

Correct, there is a WS072 on Ebay for $279, MIB.

Thanks for posting the photos. Question regarding the Ausf A tank commander's insignia - is the cuff title that of the HJ? Would assume so, but don't have a closeup of the figure to confirm.

To me the new tank look more yellow & lighter in colour than the stock K&C photo

I think the new panther knocks spots of the old one. Yes there was lots of crew but, the detail around the wheels and behind the missing skirts was poor IMO. The new one looks more chrisp and clear as it would have been. The colouration looks good and the zimmerit and flakes off is very good.

The old one is selling or was, on K&C UK website for £230 so, its quite similar in price.

I converted three of the old ones as collectors were not anamoured to the wheel clutter, tracks and wheels on the superstructure and, the one collector who sends me a lot of stuff cannot see anything to do on this set.

IMO its the best Panther K&C have done to date
Mitch

I think it should look like this to be right ,

l_DRR61022.jpg

It will fit in well with the rest of K&C Normandy range

uksubs...

I was only comparing it to the K&C inventory. If you open it up to comparison thats another issue completely

Well if you look at Figarti new Jagdpanzer that paint job is spot on & cost about the same as the K&C Panther so it can be done

Paint job on the Jagpanzer does look good from the pics I have seen on here but, the only way we can compare properly will be to see two AFV's of the same make from them and that will allow comparison.

I do see what you are saying but, I don't think Figarti have done the tri colour scheme yet on an AFV. Have not heard what the cost will be in the UK but, as $199 it should be there or therabouts. Have you ordered either yet? I have the pre-order for the Jagdpanzer.

Just for information.

The last WSS072 (new) sold on UK Ebay on 15/08/10 for GBP72 ;)

New one is GBP 210 - big difference I would say.:eek::eek:

Cheers
