My grandfather fought in WW2. He was a airplane mechanic and was part of the force that found, captured, dismantled and transported the Messerschmitt Me 262 Schwalbe. He has actual pictures of him strapping the wings onto his jeep!!!

I was wondering. Does any of the manufacturers make the Messerschmitt?

K & C made a couple of wood versions, photos attached.

I've asked Andy about this from time to time and he said this is something he would liked to do. Howard mentioned in a post last night that there were airplanes in Andy's room. Maybe a 262 will be there :) One can only hope.

WOW, these are great!!! I am thinking of getting my grandfather one for Christmas. I am a ACW collector and do not look at anything else much, so I do not know much about these.

Have you actually seen these? Do you know what these run$$$?

These are the wooden ones, which were were made in limited quantities and no longer made. My guess is that when they were made they were about $700 to $800.

Hopefully, we'll see the Me 262 come out eventually.

It can only be a matter of time before one of the manufacturers do this aircraft.

PS.. Jazzeum you are now just a citizen???

Yes, I demoted myself :) I think it used to be Citizen of the World or something like that but I decided to put it in Spanish :)

Well, KC revealed the 262 in Chicago. Won't be long until it is available. Anyone who saw it have any comments about it? Seemed a rather dull, colorless paint scheme, but it is Galland's, I believe. -- Al

Wasn't the day Galland was shot down ina ME262 flying White 3 with no other markings on the plane and, his was a pure fighter interceptor rather than having a bomb underneath??

I have just looked at the 1/72nd legends series and white three seems to have been replicated exactly for this release except underbody bomb
