Take a poll to see how many would
buy a 4 horses gun and limber set for $400+

Hope I am not whipping a dead "horse" .. if so, excuse me

An arttillery gun, limber and horse set need not be sold as one set, if the tremendous cost is a concern. The whole setup may be sold in "connectable" parts.

For instance some collectors may like multiple guns, caissons .. or even multiple loose mounts for our dios. ... But, put that all together, it would be possible to have a very desirable limbered gun set :)

7. “Future of SOHK/USN/USMC
I can assure collectors that SOHK is a huge seller for us, particularly as you would expect, here in the Far East… A lot more in the works.
As for USN/USMC… We have indeed produced a large pirate junk and are in discussion with several factories in the best and most cost effective way to produce it. Once we’ve decided on the best way forward I’ll let you guys know. I’m also working on another related topic that could be very interesting… more details later.

...And that my friends is that… hope you get a few answers plus a little bit of a “tease” for the coming months and year.

All the best and… happy collecting!

Andy C.

That's fantastic news! To be honest I had just about made my mind up to end/limit my SOHK collection to what it was, get a few Crimean pieces that interested me and then waste my disposable income on something other than K&C... that decision has definitely been put on hold for now and look forward to seeing what the next few months bring.

Thanks for the insight Andy and glad to see you posting, the forum has been a little dull lately. I'm really looking forward to your WWI warbirds! :D   Glad to hear that FOB is one of your favourites ( its one of my favourites too ) because I'd like to see more future releases from that line! The increased frequency of Napoleonic releases sounds great as 2010 has been a rather quiet year! I second Old Dragon's idea that the larger pieces that are cost prohibitive be released in separate blocks so that collectors can "pick away" at them. That line really does need some fresh ideas ( like 250 in the WWII series ), other than just different foot, horse and artillery regiments Napoleonics needs some transportation pieces, hospital sets, foodlines etc. If that P-47 comes out in a Silver colour I'm in as well as picking up supporting USAAF pieces. I hope in the future we'll see the Battle of Britain type Me-109, and a D-Day coloured Typhoon, a desert Kittyhawk ( similar to your expensive version ) and a Stuka.

P.S. Just got that Normandy Tilley and its "MONEY!" What a great piece, the best of the bunch and one of my new favourites for sure.

5. “Warbird Demand
Re the P47D… All 5 sold out within a couple of hours. Apologies for not amending the K&C website.
In the meantime let me announce that the next polystone, resin and metal warbirds after the upcoming ME262 are…
Special Edition Spitfire Mk1 of the American Eagle Squadron of the RAF. Just 250 are being produced and…
U.S. Army Corps P47 “Razorback”. More details to come later.

Seriously, where is the Stuka? I'm a bit disappointed that 2 Spitfires are released before the original list of polys is complete. I hope there's not an issue with the Stuka.

I'd agree with this, and I think the start has been made with the recent French Artillery sets NA197 & NA198, by providing a separate gun and extra crewmen. Maybe a follow on could be the limber, and 2 horses with 1 drivers as a small set, and the front pair of horse with a driver as another. that way a small diorama can be satified, while a large one could have 6 horses.

I think he means that spitfire :)

We have had a Kiwi spit and now another Mark 1 in the offing for US why do we not have a brit spit for british squadrons. Bader or a myriad of other english legends????
Very strange

Hi Maple Leaf,
I'm a bit new to this forum business so I'm not sure how to set-up a voting poll.
I have seen the amount of interest my suggestion for a Napoleonic artillery train has raised on this thread and other threads and I would bet that a limited run of say 300 to 400 at a price of between $400+ would sell out no problem.
Let's face it there are some guys out there with buckets of money that would probably buy more than one. I've seen their collections on this forum and they must be worth tens of thousands. $400+ for a desirable item such as this would be a drop in the ocean to them.
I'm not rich by any means but I would buy one in an instant.
I don't want to upset K&C by droning on about the same subject but it is important to listen to customers and K&C are good at that.
If anyone out there knows how to set-up a voting poll and would like to help with this I would be grateful.

I'm now going to answer OBEE and OLD DRAGON about their idea of splitting the set.

Thanks everyone:)
Paul

Hi OBEE and Old Dragon,
I like this idea. :D
Splitting the set up would make a lot of sense.
Separate horse sets so that you can have either a four or six horse team is a great idea.
The buyer could then choose to display the whole train on the move with or without the cannon.
The buyer could also place the limber close by a firing cannon and crew set-up.
There are enough cannon and crew sets out there at the moment to satisfy the gun part of the gun and limber train.
So we really just need the limber, horses and some riders.
Splitting the set looks like a good compromise to keep the price down if that is an issue with some collectors.
It would not be beyond most manufacturers to also produce a separate caisson which could also be used with the horse team.

Thanks:)
Paul
