Here a Tiger has stopped momentarily so the tank driver can inspect the left drive sprocket and track. An infantryman also looks on in case he has any suggestions for the tanker. Meanwhile the tank commander scans the skies for any possible Allied aircraft.

Got out my old Winter Tiger one more time since I might be purchasing the new Snow Tiger. Tanker checking track is from CS.

Beautiful tank and nice diorama.
I'm planning to buy the new Snow Tiger as well .

Nice dio and very creative use of the dead CS figure. The eye level shots are great. -- Al

I like your comment about the infantryman looking on in case he might have some suggestions for the driver.

It reminds me of a real photo of a German infantry column walking past a tank crew trying to repair the track of a PZIV. Some have actually stopped to watch. I need to find out where I have that photo.

I also like the use of the dead figure for the driver. It looks great, and I was thinking it was a modified figure.

Thanks to all for the nice comments. I was trying to come up with something different for another Winter Tiger dio and the use of the CS casualty figure just came to me after trying to use him as an actual casualty on top of the tank. His eyes are open and when you "stand him up", he is the right height to where he fits as if he's looking and grabbing at the top of the Tiger's tracks ... an accidental discovery:D. I was just lucky to realize that.:)

Very cool use for this guy and have to tell you I have seen guys doing that same look on modern armor. Reminded me of a time when I picked up about 2 miles of wire in a sprocket and we didnt know it until the driver made a remark about trouble turning one way. It was the middle of the night and dark as all get out so you can probably picture the scene. Wore out some wire cutters that day

Dave

Nice scene Duke, looks pretty cold there!. Good use of figures and that Tiger is a beauty isn't she.

Thanks, and that's an interesting story about the wire. I'll bet that was a mess:eek:

Thanks Rob. The Winter Tiger is one of my favorite K&C pieces.

Great scene, Duke and nice use of the CS figure. This makes waiting for the Snow Tiger that much harder!:D It should arrive with the real snow and freezing temps here!:p

Thanks, we don't really get any snow here where I live (except once every 10 years or so and then it melts within hours). Maybe that's why I like the winter dioramas so much.:)
