Rob...

Really like these cover adverts. Had to get another sent out as my first came all torn up. Does anyone else think what is classed as the NCO kneeling with machine gun is reminiscent of ''Spears'' from Band of Brothers?? I think its a great pose.

Can't have enough stretcher sets

Yes he does a bit!.Wasn't he the guy that did that almost suicidal run through the middle of town during the 'Bastogne' episode and also the guy who 'Hosed' the German POW's in Normandy?.

happy there is a new release for the king and country folks but I feel the timing and subject matter are off.

Rob...

Thats the one would have been some sight

Its quite special for me as I had missed notification it was on lots of other things going on at that time so, I was up quite late one night stuck on the TV to see spears running across the field to take charge of Easy company when foxhole norman lost his nerve.

From then I was hooked though late into the series that episode and the spears bit are stand outs for the series.

Mitch, it really was a superb series wasn't it, I too was hooked and enjoyed it hugely. Too difficult to pick out fave episode such was the quality. At the risk of causing an argument I'd say best War tv series ever.

Every Band of Brothers is a classic. My favorite is the Market Garden episode. Nice K&C ad, btw.

I like the winter episodes but, as you guys say its hard to pick an absolute favourite as I do like the early training ones with Soble/schwimmer.

Don't think its going to cause any arguments about it being the best series.

What do you mean HSM?

We have remembrance day in Nov. I can assure you I won't be buying WIA or KIA soldiers for a while. Just a personal observation.

Yes we have it too, and I totally understand your reasoning for this.I guess some people may see the wounded/dead figures as a reminder of what those guys did for us. I'll be in London for the annual rememberance day service this year, havn't missed one since I was a schoolboy and first learned about it. Have attended many in Ypres,Somme and London and wouldn't miss one for anything.

Rob...

I have been too a few and they are special occasions I once spoke to a chap who asked why I went to one each year as he thought once you have been its the same thing the next year. Nothing further from the truth. Each one is unique in its own right for me.

Next years will also be special as its 11.11.11 at 11am
Mitch

The services are all very moving, whether they be in a rainy autumn London or on a wind swept Passchendaele ridge, this year I will remember all our servicemen particularly the men of the RAF who seventy years ago this year secured our freedom with their sacrifice.
