What a wonderful collection!:cool::cool::cool: If I could ever get out to California, I would love to see it in person. Thanks for the photos!

Bob is such a decent human being that if I told him you were flying out here to see his collection in San Jose, he would fly up there just to show it to you personally. I kid you not.

What a collection !!! Thanks Mike for taking the photos. Can you ask Bob what he used for the building behind his Durbar elephants, it looks very nice. also pass along my thanks for allowing you to take and post photos of his magnificent collection.

That is most stunning
What a collection and what wonderful way to display it.
Seeing all that in person must be quite a treat.
Thank you for posting.
Konrad

Hi Raymond,

The exterior of the house is Victorian, but the decor inside is a mix of many different styles, as you observed and can see from the photos. Please feel free to plan to attend one of these events in the future, if possible. You will not be disappointed. They are held on the first week end of November.
Hi Mike: Thank you for posting these. Simply outstanding. If I ever get to California again, I definitely want to see this collection and the tank museum.

I know Michael Green, the man who ran the tank museum. However, I haven't had any contact with him since the owner, billionare Jacques Littlefield, died, so I don't know what the story is now regarding visits (which are by appointment) and even if he still is in charge. In any case, both are well worth seeing.

Yes indeed and if you added these to a free photobucket account it would be a lot easier for you and the photos could be full page size.

This is an experiment to see if these photos are now from photobucket or are still from my original source.

Hmmmmm. I wonder if photobucket picked up the photos I had originally reduced on photoshop to post on the forum. They look the same to me.

Speaking of open house, I want to remind all of you about the open house at the Old Toy Soldier Home on Dec 4, in Vista, CA. Many of the West Coast greats will likely be there and Bubba will have good markdowns on may current sets. Mike . . .good opportunity for another article, so bring your camera!

Well it picks up the files you direct it to upload. If your reduced photo files were on the same drive then that would have been an easy mistake to make. I know I have done that. The best way to check is to make sure your large photo files are in a different folder and when you go to upload, be sure to direct to that folder. You can just delete the ones you have uploaded to avoid confusion in case the names are similar.

A house for your collection!! :eek::cool::cool: I've just got a cabinet..:eek:

Thanks for the photos.

Jeff

i'll see your cabinets and raise you a room. :p

The Romans are my favorites- that man has truly been Blessed. Beautiful home.

Thanks. I figured that out after I sent that message. I went back to my SD camera card and uploaded that, with the larger photos, into a new folder on photobucket. When I tied to upload that folder's photos to the Forum, it said they were too large. I give up---I have decided to let it go and move on to other things.

Sorry for you troubles Mike. For free members there is a size limit on photos but it is about 5 times larger than the one here. Depending on what resolution you shot them at, generally 50%-75% of the originals generally works.
