Tim,

I don't agree with you about Andy not listening. If Andy sees enough interest in an item, he will make it. That's why I suggest you give me a finite number; the smaller the better so he can gauge interest.

Until Louis, I and others started agitating about the planes, he had no interest and now he's on the verge of re-introducing them.

Guys, I only made the suggestions I did as I thought they would compliment what KC already has.Real meat and spuds , nothing fancy but not on the roster at present. It matters not to me but wouldn't you like a little consistency to make your formations?
Still, They'll do what they want and I don't think Austrians, Prussians, Russians, Swedes, Bavarians ect are going to be anywhere soon! They'll go with what sells, British AND French.

I agree with you Tim, The new Britians for Waterloo are on my list.

FubAr

:)

Well I,ve got my russains covered now thanks to you harold!!! You got so fed up waiting you went out and made your own!!!:p I started slaping the new batch you sent me together today and even made a couple of slight conversions also. I finnished painting up those artillary sets this week to. Great job harold! They look great!!!
I might have to have Brad make a pole what do you want Fubar to make NEXT!!!:p

I think Fubar hit the nail on the head, every one makes french/british because thats what sells but i,m not sure that thats true because no one has taken a chance on the other nations. The few that did didn,t have the quality of figures that K&C has and I think they would do very well. My guess though is that we,ll just see more french and british.

Tim

I believe Andy does take in everything that is said and applies it to his business plan. Profit does have to be a motivator in the production of these figures.

It is reasonable to think that Andy is working on a Waterloo theme right now with the Napoleonics. And, if that is the case - then I am sure he will come out with some Prussian Line Soldiers. Since, they did save the British that day :D  - Sorry couldn't resist.

Really - We can talk with Andy in March and I bet he has the Prussians in mind.

Remain Calm my fine French Patriot. :D

Ron

I have yet to start a Napy collection but decided on the "Mounted Blucher with Prussian Officers" option because I liked his style in the 'Waterloo' movie: "Raise high the black flags, my children. No prisoners. No pity. I will shoot any man I see with pity in him." I don't think he liked those French guys :)

Hi Guys,

Yet another interesting poll that deserves some comments...

1. Fishead...Nothing addressed to me or K&C falls on deaf ears...I read every comment on this forum that concerns K&C and many more on other companies and topics.

However, for good or bad, the buck stops with me, I have to make the final decision on what we do...how we do it...and when we do it. I would say, in general, I agree with about 20% of the suggestions made on these forums...disagree with about 60% and don’t feel one way or the other on the remaining 20.

Listening to your customers is very important but no successful company can be run solely on a few customers/ collectors.

Remember this Forum has well over 400 members of what I would say roughly 2-3 dozen (including myself) are the “usual suspects” when it comes to posts and comments. So, let’s get a little perspective in what directions any company should go in and what exactly they should release next.

2. On the subject of future Napoleonics as I said on an earlier post (I think). This year K&C are releasing another French Cavalry Regiment and a British Infantry (not Scottish) Regiment. Towards the end of the year or early next I want to do our first non French/ British Napoleonics...and they won’t be Prussians! Boring uniforms!!!

3. Finally, to answer the age-old question “Why do manufacturers always do French and British Napoleonics?”

BECAUSE THEY SELL!

4. “Why don’t you produce all the other armies?”

BECAUSE THEY DON'T SELL!

Or at least in nowhere like the quantities of “Johnny Frog” and “Tommy Atkins”.

It sure ain’t rocket science.

And that’s the story so far...

Best wishes and...happy collecting!

I would have to disagree after reading his responses. He has some preconceived ideas (which may or may not be correct) about what sells and that's that. Any suggestions made here should be viewed as strictly for our own amusement. The only way to influence what is made is with your dollars - so don't buy it just because it is produced by KC. I have increasingly passed on KC releases in the last year as the competition has overtaken them in every respect except perhaps sheer quantity.

Well Andy comes up trumps again.A new regt of line infantry for Robert to build a nice square bristling with bayonets and goading those Frenchies on horseback. They must have looked wonderful on the day those big red squares defying anything that old Bonafart could throw at them. How he must have cursed us Brits(hee hee hee).

So now i've got time to collect the glorious Scots greys before my square is built. So more funds needed. Now this is where all you wonderful forum folk come in.I have put my dear old grandmother up on ebay and so far not a single bid!.She's 117 and will cook, clean, break rocks and go down the mines.

Now who'll start the bidding at £200!

Can she make a good Yorkshire pudding and will she wash and wax my car?:p

Fred

Yep anything you like Fred, shes a game old bird!.

Rob

I see that so far that Horse pulled artillery in action is just in front, this was one of my choices, but after reading Andy's post I can't see it happening soon.

I hope that the French cavalry are Cuirassiers. Anyway, looking forward to British Line Infantry.

Regards

Jeff

Why do some people have problems with people who make money? A successful company has to make items that sells otherwise he/she might as well just pull the pin and throw the pin away

Andy

I would like to make one appeal to your decision on Prussians - Yes, very plain uniforms - but, very important historically - why not put one of the Line Troops in a Advancing or Firing Position up as a Collector Club Figures - that way we can at least buy multiples of the figure for our scenes?

Would you consider that?

With great respect to the Almighty - your humble loyal buyer,

Ron

Sooo I guess my Greg Noll or Dewey Weber Surfer figures are out of the

question!

Dam! Njja:eek:

Hey Brad, probably just an oversight, but there's no "all of the above" option on this poll.

Well now that we are getting new British line infantry at least one of the wants on the above poll has been confirmed.Once more Andy has his finger on the pulse. No disrespect to any Scottish readers but it will be nice to have a completely new and different regt to shoot at Napoleon with!.

Rob

I don,t buy into that if they aren,t french or british they won,t sell. I think the problem is that THERE ARE NO OTHER FIGURES TO BUY!!!
How can something sell if it hasn,t been made???
Who has attempted to make these other nations figures that didn,t sell that your baseing this french and british are the only thing thats sells on and how bad did these figures look that didn,t sell and what were they???

I hope this is not based on crude gloss figures of the past, there are a whole new gereration of collectors of realistic matte finnished colletors now who don,t need to have shinny bright glossy red uniforms to catch there eyes and might have a historic interest in the era that they,d like to see covered and might even buy some of those ugly prussains.:p

I understand your in the bussiness to make a profit but I think The Napoleonic era should be presented better and not some kind of historic british tunnel vision, I think these figures would sell and there are PLENTY of FLASHY UNIFORMS from the other nations if you think they will sell better. You have represented the other nationsof the WWII era!!! What would those guys think if you only made germans and americans and told those guys nothing else would sell???:p

You listen to the requests of all the forum members but lets hope its not just there money you hear talking!
Non french and british figures WILL $ell and maybe better because of the fact that no one else makes them.

Just my $0.02!!! Sorry to vent out my frustration again but the subject gets under my skin, I hope you don,t take this as an attack! but the WWII era even has natzi party figures and we can,t even get prussains???

Hey Fish! Maybe you can talk FuBarARaraaRArarARAR into making some. He likes russians all you got to do is add a P to them and Presto Prussians!

Vamp, Not quite but failry close. Prussians are on my list. When Spring is here I will stick my head out of my hibernation and get something done.A few more Russians to do, Some frenchies and at least some basic Prussians, line, maybe Landwher.I know , I know. But they make up a HUGE part of the Prussian army.
1812 -14 is a very interesting period at least to me.Plus for Waterloo you need Prussians!
