So how many of you think you will go for this range?.I think i might be sorely tempted but i don't think its feasable on the money front.

At this point, I'll go. I stopped collecting WWII and I am selling slowly most of my collection. Saving money on one side and making money on the other side gives me, actually, the necessary financial break to do it but for how long? and I'll probably do what I am doing with the Crusaders and Saracens line and purchase only the figures that are not in a fighting position.

Pierre.

My understanding is that Andy is going to start this line with a focus on Individual Leader Figures - LEE, GRANT, etc....

We shall see - but, I bet it will be a slow start up and pick up over time. The store ownership in Texas probally has done more to convince Andy to do another Civil War line. Well lets at least hope so anyway. :D

Isn't it amazing what those WWII figures are going for on Ebay?

Yes, the Crusader Line is really great and interesting - what do you have now?

Nada. If you want great civil war figures, go with St.Petersburg/aeroart. They are superior to anything KC will do and in the case of CW are reasonably priced.

The recent KC individual figures are in the $25-35 range. The aeroart CW figures are in the $60-90. So I guess it is a matter of perspective. I would rather spend a little more given the quality of the russian figures - also I'm not a big diorama guy.

Dont get me wrong - AEROART is great stuff!

I have a few Robert E. Lee figures - but, they are a little pricey. :(

I guess we should spend a few days in Russia and pick them up from the factory and see if we can get a price break. :D

Probably a little chilly this time of year. Plus the mafia guys might not be too happy. Aeroart is a bargain compared to some of the stuff the russians sell directly.

I am really interested in the ACW line for K&C ! :)

Hopefully these guys will be in poses that can go with other figures.

I have a few from W.Britian and i would like them to go with Andy's,however i think K&C'S might be a step up again.Looking forward to their cavalry.

Conte has some great figures - that is what i have been buying since I got all of K&C stuff.

Ron

Ron,I've been tempted by Conte many times. But have so far resisted.

Right now - CONTE is the only show in town on Civil War. Although Britians has come out with some impressive stuff - I am really glad to see that they are getting their act together. :D

Have you seen the films Gettysburg and Gods and generals and are they good?

Gettysburg is good - although that liberal scum Martin Sheen plays RE Lee horrible - the scenes are good and worth the nickel. Sheen:mad:

Gods and Generals is good to a point - They left out Antiem/Sharpsburg and did this thing with a little girl and Stonewall Jackson that makes you scrach your head

The battle scenes in Gods are really good.

But, there are pearls in each movie worth watching.

Ron

Think i'll pick them up.Have just sent you a private message mate,re the battlefield info.

I own both and have watched them to death. As much as I like Gettysburg, God's and General's, though very dialogue heavy, had a more visual and emotional impact for me. The battle of Fredericksburg was excellent...There is the 3rd movie coming to a theatre near you from Gettysburg to end of war..As for Gettysburg, since I only live 50 min. from there, I liked the fact that some of the movie was shot on the actual battlefield....Tom Beringer as Longstreet was too stiff, Martin Sheen was fine as Lee....the Picket character was excellent ( in fact ,he played Stonewall in G and G )..Movie moments has now concluded.......Michael

Have you seen Frontline's Civil War stuff? I think its head and shoulders better than Conte's stuff.
