West Coaster Show 2011 (1 Viewer)

Howard...

I was planning on John Wayne airport and the Marriot Irvine that is in walking or shuttle distance...

I have a hunch the Hawk will find what he is looking for at the show...

I was thinking I might want to rent a car and drive to Los Angeles and then back down the coast to Irvine...just a little sight seeing if time allows...

thanks again for the info...

You will want to take a shuttle from John Wayne. The Marriot offers a free shuttle service from the John Wayne airport fyi.

Keep it silly

Nawwww, go ahead and walk if you don't have a lot of bags. Marc and I walk to the Gullivers' just acrfoss the street from the airport. I am pretty sure I will be there as well. Just trying to figure out the logistics for myself.

I hope First Legion makes an appearance at the Westcoaster. They could really use some exposure in the west. Many collectors have never seen a FL figure in the flesh. Does anyone know if they have aligned w/ anyone to at least show their figures at the Westcoaster? Last year more than a few people I talked to had hoped to see FL at the show.

Joe

George said he had thought about going...

but had another show that conflicted with it...

is there a list of dealers and manufacturers attending anywhere...

especially manufacturers...

Does anyone know how to obtain tickets to the K&C dinner at the Westcoaster?

For anyone going, a nice sidetrip is to Brookhurst Hobbies. depending on traffic, it's about 1/2 hr. drive from the airport in Orange county. It's HUGE and literally stuffed with all forms of Military hobbies from books and magazines to 10' shelves full of every kind of model you could think of, diorama and aftermarket. Also have a huge wargaming stock. large selection of pre-painted and I believe they even stock a small amout of toy soldiers(britains for sure). Doubt if you could walk out without something you wanted.

Hi Rob, I'll definitely be shooting and sharing a ton of pics once again in an effort to bring the show to those who cannot attend. I really had a blast doing so last year, and I'm really looking forward to all aspects of the show, including photo documentation. I'll do my best to post the pics in a timely manner as well. I'm glad you enjoyed last year's pics, Rob!:) Thanks for the kind words.

Gentlemen,
It is now only two weeks away from the West Coaster Show and I am counting down the days until the big bird flies me across the ditch to the US of A. and into Sunny downtown LA's Irvine Marriott.:smile2::smile2:
Reading this thread again today it will be great to catch with old mates and meet some new ones.
From my reading, I hope to met Treefroggers, Ed (Ecuriel), Al (Al Fisher), Mike (UCLA1967), Denver (Denver), Tom (tdubel), Michael (mikemiller), Marc (Beaufighter), Chris (McKenna77), Michael (kilted vampire), Joe (joesgis), Mark (Markeymaker), Nicholas (Scarlet Pimpernel), Hans (Hans Hedrich) plus (sgtrock), Chris Munro and Doug Luna.
Hope also to catch up with Richard Walker (Britians), Rick Wang (Figarti), Ken and Ericka (Hudson & Allen), Mark and Sandy (Build-A-Rama), Mike and Myszka (Sierra Toy Soldiers), Larry and Wendy (March Through Times), Tim Tyler (Troops Of Time), Craig and Woody (Old Toy Soldier Home) and of course my good mates Andy and young Helen from King & Country.
Now I have probably missed someone out like good mates Carlos and Steven Cheong. So if I have please post and make yourself known.
Looking forward to a great five days in LA.
Cheers from the Land Downunder, Howard

Hey Howard:

It will be great to see you at the show again. Steven will be there too.

I hope you'll recognize me with my new addition. I have a new appendage on my right leg called a "Taylor Spatial Frame" (TSF). So I'll be hopping around on one good foot with camera in hand...LOL.

See you all there,

Carlos

Carlos mate,
Great to hear from you. Sorry to hear about the appendage, but does this mean I have a fighting chance of getting to the Rooms and picking up the bargains before you.:):):):)
It will be great to catch up and enjoy a beer together.
Cheers Howard

Any of you guys taking pics for us here on the forum , your work is much appreciated:salute:::salute:::salute:::salute::

Rob

Assuming Carlos is fit and able :), he does a wonderful job of taking photos and I'm sure Steven will contribute his usual excellent reportage.

Yes, and with Howard and Joe we have almost a platoon of snappers reporting from the action, can't overstate how grateful I am as someone who just can't get there. Will repay the favour in London in March.

Rob
