Why stop there???

You could have Benito Mussolini hanging upside down alongside his wife?

The charred bodies of Hitler, Eva Braun and all those in the bunker in Berlin?

NO, lets not glorify anything with the death of these sort of people!

John

Totally agree....Well said

I think its very much Horses for courses and each to their own. Whilst I wouldn't want a dead Bin Laden figure on show I can fully understand if many in New York would like nothing more. We can't make too many judgements on these things as everyone is different. I myself would not collect LAH but I know and respect many who do, on the other hand dead or wounded figures of fighting troops feature in my collection.

We all come at these things from a different angle.

Rob

Thats right Rob,

AND I'm glad of that too....

It would all be SO boring if we weren't.....

All cheering for the Aussie Cricket Team :) :)

John

Phew ..... I thought we needed something to break the ice

thing is Rob the nazi's are now not bombing our cities and trains and beheading captured westeners. That was my point about the crass comments about defiling his body and, burning him alive on TV and, other knee jerk reactions that have been made. The extremists hate us enough without giving them more reason to kill more innocent people.

I think we as british view these things differently. we have been bombed during both world wars and, have had thirty years of the IRA and, now extremists compared to our US countrymen but, there are times when restraint and composure is called for and, IMO this is one of those times

We have to ensure we are on the high ground or whats the point of trying to win the hearts and minds campaign. the more we debase ourselves to the level of those who twist the quran, the more innocent people will die and the longer the troops will be in an no win situation. Its good we have ridden the world of a nasty peice of work and, thats it, move on and get his number two.. and onwards.
Mitch

Mitch, Completely agree...and well said.... the job is not finished yet...Still much more to do in the battle against Islamic terrorism both militarily and politically.....We must continue in a manner that does not "debase" us....and proceed in a workman-like manner...non-emotionally and with determination

What you say makes good sense Mitch of course, but its easy for us to say we have to put emotion aside when dealing with these things, we did not lose any family members on 9/11 thousands did. Now if they have the desire for retribution, justice , revenge or whatever you want to call it, do we really have to say to them 'No,put your emotions aside'!. If having a dead Osama figure makes them happy then who are we to judge?. All i'm saying is each to their own and you can't judge someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes.

I'm not even sure how many would want such a figure, but people collect 1/6th scale Himmlers so who knows!

Rob

I dont think Andy has the interest in doing anymore modern at this time. But if he did a set like this I may be interested But then again Im not really into modern military that much.

Totally agree....Well said

Totally disagree. The only Hitler or Mussolini figures I would ever display in my home would be them in death. I find it hysterical that you have no problem with displaying Hitler hanging out at the Bergoff with his mass-murdering friends, but are appalled by the thought of displaying him as a good nazi. Give me a dead Bin Laden, along with all of the other mass-murdering scum you mention in death. It is the LAH series that glorifies these evil scum, not depictions of them receiving their just desserts.

Rob...

I am not talking about the families of victims who are allowed to state what they want as it can be portrayed as emotion caused by grief. I also have an american wife who both knew victims in 911 and had family in the area at that very time who lost friends etc. I also met on a few social occasions a UK chap who died in the towers we did not have to have family or friends or, even have been close physically to be able to see that emotion plays no part in the way we have to deal with what is seen as the enemy.

What I am against is not so much the figures but, the rhetoric from some members and, in the press. If we are their for democracy and protection and not oil as some state then we have to uphold those values. Fair comment that he was involved in many acts of terrorism and, is now not alive, no problem for me. but, these idiots murder people by beheading on the internet and a host of other barbaric acts and if we follow the current theme of barbaric retaliation then we may as well pack up now we lose face and, credibility and legitimacy if we follow suit with some of the calls for dispicable acts I have heard.

I'm not putting any Nazi figures or Bin Laden stuff on display because I glorify them...they are just figures representing the whole picture of toy soldier collecting and the history of war in general...having a dead w/bullet in the head Bin Laden would be a huge plus for my future American display!

Anybody ever wonder if Bin Laden was truely killed and dumped over board into the ocean? I'm not saying the story is false but when it comes to military and protecting our country I do wonder...there are moral issues and then there are torture tactics...it makes me wonder if the information that can be achieved overrides any ethics/morals for the goodness of the country and it's people...do ethics and morals exist at times like these?

Regarding Post #21....Well Louis, I totally disagree with you...For your information I do not collect Hitler in the Berghoff and as a matter of fact find it "totally distasteful" as well as the recent "drunken brown shirts" released...Totally DISTASTEFUL...I do have a Hitler figure and some LAH as a part of my collection for "Historical Significance ONLY"...I do not collect LAH to glorify the Nazi's.....Actually I find your need to display gruesome depictions of Hitler and Mussolini in death only quite odd to say the least and somewhat immature

Well, I appologize for my misinformation. I thought you were one of the LAH collectors. As far as my "imature" desire for a dead Hitler figure, if you want to insult someone, at least learn to spell the insult correctly.

I'll correct my spelling Louis....Thank you for bringing it to my attention

While I am aware this is not a KC product, here is a SEAL sniper in 7" scale:

http://www.spawn.com/toys/product.aspx?product=3067

can be found on ebay.

There are 1:6th scale figures as well.

If KC did a deal UBL as part of the grand scheme of a larger dio, I'd grab it but wouldn't buy it if it were a collector club figure or something like that.

The other thing all the manufacturers need to be careful with is giving the appearance of making a quick buck on all of this. Just my thoughts..........

If Bin Laden's wife comes forward and say's that Bin Laden was not shot and that he was taken alive...will certainly start me wondering?
