I do re-enacting of the 2nd Ranger Battalion 1944-45 and I wear glasses, however mine are very thin and gold in colour, but they are huge and do take up the size of my face!

Mine do as well which is why my wife and kids tell me it's time to move outta 1985!! {eek3}{sm4}

I take strong exception to the glasses on the one prone trooper. Also KV- I believe there was discussion regarding the placement of the logs on the Priest. I believe someone came to the conclusion that those were the M1946 version which could not have been used on a vehicle in theater in 1944 {sm4}{sm3}

I was joking about the logs saying they must be late 1944 - 1945 logs. :rolleyes2:^&grin The early version of the Priest was used right to the end of the war so it works for any period from D-Day on.

If you count the rings on the logs I think you will find they were cut in 1939. That being said I believe the Lend Lease program was already in the planning stages.

This would also account for the discrepancy of so called non-regulation logs. As they were cut according to the British regulations of a right angle downward facing cut versus the American left angle upward facing cut. So you can readily see the differences under this newly found rewritten regulation.

Well, that is an honest mistake, but those would have only been found on late-war Romanian vehicles, some of which resembled the Priest. A vampire would not come near a real priest.

Rather amazed that the 'rivet counters' have not recognized that the 'tommy gun' being fired by the K&C figure of Sir Winston Churchill is the Thompson Sub-machine Gun Model M1928A1, with a horizontal fore-grip and straight magazine; and not the Model 1921, which was predominately provided lead-lease to British Forces from the United States early in WWII. (In all fairness, and to provide some latitude for artistic license, ther were a limited number of M1928A1s included.) To the point, in all the historical photographs of Winston Churchill holding the weapon, it is the Model 1921, with a 50 round drum magazine and a pistol fore-grip, not the M1928A1.

Well, now that it has been mentioned, it appears that the Thompson does have a pistol fore-grip, and a horizontal fore-grip, combined. Perhaps PM Churchill has the drum mag in his rear pocket.{sm3} -- Al

Funny thing is, military issue glasses are quite a sight to behold (no pun intended). They have really thick black frames and didn't do my otherwise Apollo-like image any good when I was in training. ^&grin They were affectionally known as RPGs- Rape Prevention Glasses!! {sm2}{sm4}

Maybe on you sir but I looked just like Buddy Holly in mine especially with a nice coating of GAA after doing a service on the tank in the field!{sm4}
