Anyone catch the premiere of "Game of Thrones"? I thought it was overall a pretty good first episode. Sean Bean does another excellent job. The 1st scene is just flat out creepy.

We are going to be a day behind you. I'm looking forward to it though.

I thought it was pretty good and Sahara was right about the first scene.Looks like a winner.What's everybody think of Camelot and The Borgias? Camelot is ok and I watch it but don't think it will last beyond first season.The Borgias on the other hand seems very good from what I've seen but can't get into it as I have no interest in the time period same with the Tudors.Looks like more money was put into GOT and Borgias then Camelot and it shows.

I really had high hopes for Camelot but I just can't seem to catch onto it. Arthur's character does nothing for me. IMO the acting isn't all that and the budget must not be that big by looking at the costumes and sets. None the less I'll still tune in to see if it gets any better.

Caught GOT and have to agree about the opening scenes being creepy but they mislead me as I thought it was just going to be zombie crap so I almost turned it off. Decided to stick with it and was pleased to find the story deeper than that, along with some good acting. Looks like a lot of layers in this show. Will be looking forward to more episodes. -- Al

Just watched the first episode last night as have Sky+ the series.

Definitely think this series has got some potential especially if the blonde haired princess gets more scenes! :redface2:^&cool

I'm with you on that. A little gratuitous nudity is never a bad thing . . . :wink2:

Personally I thought Showtimes "Gigilos" was very deep and informative!!
Seriously has anyone caught this show? Makesure the kids and grandkids are fast asleep if you watch it.

I've seen the first 2 episodes, really great, but your right, definately late night entertainment!{eek3}

Liking the series so far. The evil queen and prince are on the road to ruin and a really gruesome end, or so I hope. Lots of good stuff going on to keep interest fed. -- Al

I thought Camelot flat out sucked eggs. Caught some of GOT the other night with my wife, can't help but chuckle whenever the dwarf/midget is on. I know it's childish but, I cannot deny what I am.

Otherwise, the whorehouse scene I saw the other night with the midget and the 4 prostitutes really sent me over the top in laughter. I think Rome sort of pushed the edge with sex and nudity though I felt the story (Rome) was strong enough and the acting was simply fantastic to work. I feel like the "sex/nudity" scenes anymore on these premium channels is just a gimmick and takes away from storytelling. Given that my wife was really uncomfortable watching GOT, I can't see us ever watching it again. This weeks TV features will focus on the Royals wedding followed by more monotonous "Reality" TV. The only thing I want to watch this week on TV is Saturday night's UFC matchups- which will cost me $45!! :mad:

watched part of Episode 4 last night but it put me to sleep. Too much talk. Will have to watch it again at an earlier hour. That bathtub scene just went on forever and was boring. Overall I have liked the series and I will make the effort to catch what I missed last night. -- Al

Watched 3 series so far and im enjoying it im also watching the Killing its got me hooked,camelot is to sterile there all to neat and clean and i imagine back then things weren't that clean.

Spartacus set the bar for me with these types of shows. A bit campy, but uncompromising on the sex and violence of the times. It would have been a brutal existence by our standards and not the watered down stuff of Camelot. Most other "historically" based shows draw viewers in with racy promos only to deliver a bore fest of bad acting.

Deadwood was good...................{sm3}
Spartacus was brilliant can't wait for series 3.

Personally...

I'm loving this series...

"the Imp"...Peter Dinklage...he's a great actor...got a real "chip on his shoulder"...really identifies with his role...check out...The Station Agent and Death at a Funeral...

I also like the character of "Arya Stark"...Maisie Williams...the "Hands" daughter...very well cast and competent...

Anyone still watching this series? I think it is very well done and it is starting to get very interesting. The fellow who plays Robert, the King does and excellent job. In fact I really have no complaints about any of the cast. They all seem to know their roles well.

I'm watching it...I just saw the televised Episode 6 this week and they let you watch Episode 7 on HBOGO a week in advance...I saw it too...but won't spoil it for you...^&grin
BUT IT'S REALLY GOOD!!!!

by the way...Netflix just delivered today..."Black Death"...which stars Sean Bean...Stark...The Hand of the Throne in it...
