Alex the work you and Nick execute with your WWII compositions -the diligent research you undertake and the finite details you always include in your set-ups blows me away everytime.
Likewise your ventures into the ACW such as this set-up of Grant's staff outside Bethesda Church-June 1864 when he had the pews taken out of the church and called a war meeting. I have copies of the real photographs taken by the New York media who were also in the field that day-when aligned with your picture albeit taken from a different angle - really is a splendid piece of work. And turning up the volume with a marching Union band puts the icing on the cake.
I tip my old gray kepi to you both Sirs-Outstanding work

We were told previously that we were incorrect with the placement of the Iron Brigade soldier with the Eagle in this scene. Can you comment on that. Alex
Alex-I had him down as you practising a little artistic licence :smile2:
The IB figure is from the 8th Wisconsin and he is carrying "Old Abe" a bald headed eagle on a Standard with perch as they carried him into each of their battles. But the regiment never came east to Virginia-most of their scraps were in the Mississippi campaigns and in particular Vicksburg into Lousiana and finished up in the Mobile campaign. "Old Abe" the eagle got through six or seven 8th Wisconsin standard bearers during his service in the war and he survived some 18 years after-by then he had become quite a famous old bird.
So in answer to your question- no the figure shouldn't have been in your picture with Grant at Bethseda church.
