Hi Guys,
After 10 years as a dealer and a few years as a forum member I have decided to start a new Toy Soldier company that will produce :

the best figures,
best vehicles,
best aircraft,
best quality at lowest prices,
best variety of poses
and largest selection of series from ancient times through to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Planning is well under way. I have experts examining every post ever made on this forum so that they can recommend which items to produce first and at what price.

I appreciate "affordability" is important and am thinking to introduce a new concept where we have three
different price levels for the same item. The customer will pay what he can afford. This will involve submitting details of income and expenses. However initially we will use previous posts to determine what the collector can afford. For example a Tiger tank will be priced at $599, $299, and $149. Those who have previously posting about buying a wooden warbird, "shock and awe" item or FL vehicle (sorry guys ^&grin) will pay the higher price and we are working on the affordability formula for others.

As you can appreciate factory production is the vital ingedient in this exciting new venture. With this in mind we are seeking your help in locating any of the following :

Harry Potter recently graduated from Hogwarts Academy
Merlin of Camelot
The Wizard of Oz (hey I know he is local but Oz is a big country)

We are currently in discussions with Gandalph the Grey but it appears he is under contract to Peter Jackson.

I would prefer Merlin due to his association with King Arthur and his Knights as he will have more of a military background that Potter.

I have already received reliable information that our likely main competitor has been seen running into walls at London train stations.

Obviously this information is highly confidential so if you have the contact details of any of the above please PM me.

Regards
Brett

I just don't see the point. With all the rancour lately this is just a strange attempt at humour which, is bound to and, IMO obviously, will annoy some. Just not funny.
Mitch

Mitch,
I am merely trying to use humour to show how keeping everybody happy is basically impossible.

Whilst you might not appreciate my sense of humour I am sure you would agree I am entitled to an opinion. If my sense of humour is considerd out of order I am sure the Mods will take any action they deem appropriate.

I think everyone is well aware that limited manufacturers producing sets cannot ever achieve a eutopian field for every collector and, some will have to do without their choosen era. If you wanted to post this you could have easily IMO just said do you know it must be really hard for manufacturers to produce what they do and keep everyone happy so, hats off to them for trying.

As you say, you have the right to post what you want and, you do often here and elsewhere but, reading it, I can see subtle innuendo at certain shall we say factions or, else I would not have bothered saying anything especially, when its not linked to any of the posts where it would have fitted in better as humour if thats what you say it is than, just an out of the blue post.

I feel had someone else posted this say one of the alleged usual suspects or the so called bad guys it would have been seen as exactly what I had commented upon. a rather strange thing to post and thats my opinion.

To paraphrase Bill Lumbergh (Office Space), Mitch, I'm going to have to go ahead and...disagree, with you, on this one. I think Brett's post is a hoot. It's a nice little piece of satire.

Brett, while you're at it, I think your new venture should put some funds into R&D on that machine that will transmogrify lead into gold, too. You'll make a killing ;)

Prost!

Mitch,
Regarding your reference to "factions" and the "usual suspects" please note that when I express an opinion I do so on a thread by thread basis. The fact is there are some I disagree with more than others. Depending upon the subject I can agree with somebody in one thread but on something else might strongly disagree with the same person.

However I will say I do find certain people predictable and no doubt many find me so.

Your comment about my post being strange is noted. Regarding your last sentence it is hard to say how people view my post since at the time of writing this we are the only two discussing it. I do note you were the first to think the "Wizardry" post was a good one. I am merely taking it a step further and seeking a Wizard and now you have a problem with it{sm4} This clearly indicates you can not please all of the forum members all of the time.

To quote Sergeant Hulka, "Lighten up, Francis!"

A little humor first thing in the morning is always a good thing.{sm4}

Brad,
I have obviously considered other uses for the company Wizard but your suggestion will be on top of the list.

Between you and me there are some other aspects to the business plan which will ensure success.

Firstly our Marketing and Complaints Manager, Mr Darth Vader, has assured me he has a failproof plan. Seems he will be visiting all other producers (including the work from home cottage type producers) and suggesting it might be to their benefit if they take early retirement. This will apply to plastics, figure kits and gloss.

Mr Vader will then be setting up displays in shopping centres around the world and giving away free samples to lure them into the inevitable addiction. Resistence is futile.

I am happy to report The Santa Klaus Distribution Company has just signed up to transport our product as they have plenty of spare capacity.

Brett

Brad and Louis,

Our Research Department is good but they are having problems identifying Bill Lumbergh and Sergeant Hulka.
The important point is do they own any wooden warbirds or shock and awe items ?
Their obvious good sense of humour may be taken into consideration when deciding their affordability factor.

Louis, Mr Vader will be in touch regarding your Symposiums. He seems to think one a year is not enough and might be willing to overlook the fact you have a few warbirds and shock and awe items when determining your affordability factor. However you will still have a problem with the high loading factor for lawyers. You might want to consider joining the NYPD as Emergency Service personnel will be treated most favourably.

Brett

The one thing we need nowadays is humor or humour :wink2:

As I'm a wooden warbird fan, I guess I'm stuck in the higher end of the bracket {eek3}

Good show Brett!

Personally, I'm just pleased that someone finally gets it. Now, with this new player in the field, I no longer have to overpay for inferior products. Thank goodness. -- Al

Brad (the Jazzy one),
We are also aware you are in the legal profession so things do not look good price wise for you. Lawyers who own wooden warbirds are probably going to have a set minimum amount per month they have to buy.

However we are already being contacted by collectors who are appealing not to be considered as having a high affordablity factor. In order to be fair we will probably have to set up a Toy Soldier Affordability Tribunal and lawyers who own warbirds might be able to pick up a considerable number of clients (Howard will no doubt be seeking defence counsel and try to deny he has a G for George Lancaster).

I still have not found a Wizard but can see that without one running this business might not be as easy as I thought. Darth Vader is already getting ahead of himself and talking about taking over the Galaxy (good help is hard to get).

Regards
Brett

Al,
Our analysis is that you personally will be underpaying for greatly superior product. Customer satisfaction is our aim.
You can start making your list{sm4}

Brett,

Looks like Howard may have to find another job to afford this new company. Good business for you ^&grin

Brett..

I made no comments about wizardry for or against it if one looks and I know you do. So, I do not know what that is all about. The only reference to it was when I said we are always told what a wizard business K&C are as in, wizard relating to good. Andy picked it up and then its ran. I am glad more think its fun but, on a forum about opinions I did not. That about it. Have ''fun''

Brett,
This sounds like a brilliant concept, good for you, best of luck with this.

If you are looking for a US agent, please feel free to contact me and I'm in, I want to get in before a bunch of other dealers come beating down your door as if often the case in these sort of things.

Can't wait for the next time someone says to me "Gee, I really love that new airplane, but 400.00 is a bit much, you know Forces of Valor makes a nice plastic version of that very same plane for 50.00"...............I can then say "no problem sir, I've got one here just for you at that very same price, we've thought of EVERYTHING."

And as others have said, geez, take it down a couple of notches, a bit of sarcasm is just what the doctor ordered considering the general mood in these parts lately.................

Al may have to amend the last line of his signature {eek3}
No worry about having to amend that last line, Brad. I have PLENTY of others taking my dollars on a regular, unending basis. That statement will stay true until I draw breath no more.:rolleyes2::wink2:{sm2} -- Al

Mitch,
If you do not see the "fun" in my first post in this thread that is not a problem.

As you can probably guess I do not agree with some of the points/opinions raised in CFM's Wizard thread. However I only read the thread quite late and missed all the deletions. Rather than join in late and when the thread had gone quiet I chose to start this thread and express my views in what I thought might be a funny way. Hopefully CFM will find it amusing also.

Regards
Brett
