I had a nice windfall on the GG's at Galway last week and decided to invest in some K&C (I can only afford it when things like this happen!). Always loved the look of the WW1 range so bit the bullet and bought the MkIV tank off ebay and have purchased some figures. I am loving the tank but I have one question. In the diorama scene on the K&C site it depicts three WW1 tanks with different numbers but the only ones I have seen for sale have the same number "C42". Therefore are all the MkIV's the same or is there a variety of models that came out on the market, which I have obviously now missed? Ta.

Isandlwana,

As far as I know, the only one available is C42 Cavalier. It's a great model. I have two of them. I'm going to repaint one and add a crew member. This is going to be my project for this autumn.

Cheers Rif

It is a great model. I never got one, as tanks just aren't my thing, but it does look great nevertheless.

Michael,

Thanks for the info. I'll check it out.

Would be nice to have a female version mk IV. Still wishing that KC will produce a tank crew to go with them.

Guys,
Just happened to be relocating my WW1 figures when this thread started, so I grabbed a few photos of my K&C Mk IVs. I have asked Wayne nicely if he would post the photos. It is a beast of an AFV and so I had two repaints done.
The original C42 Cavalier Serial 8603 with the new Chieftain C43 8608 and Charger C44 8609.
I also had a group of the Brit WW1 figures repainted to make them Aussie. Just needed to change the colour patch and the boots to brown.
Hope you like. Thanks to Wayne for posting photos.
Cheers Howard

Rif mate,
I'm with you cobber. Would love to have more WW1 Aussie and maybe General Sir John Monash plus some Brit Tankers to complete an Amiens Dio. I might have to get into Andy's ear in Chicago.
Cheers Howard

Howard,

I'm with you!

Love the names of your tanks. Looking forward to seeing your pictures.

The word in Andy's ear would be great next time you see him.

Saw the pictures posted and am very impressed with the tank squadron you have built up. The repaints look great. Really neat to see a multi number of WW1 tanks rolling together. -- Al

Hopefully you can educate the ignorant here, :rolleyes2: but when you folks “repaint” or “modify” any item, (be it a AFV, truck, plane or figure), do you think that the rework (done professionally as you gents do it) influences the value or the validity of the piece in a positive way?

IMO most of the ones I have seen are wonderful improvements and produce a unique piece. As shown by the photos they add tremendously to a diorama or even a simple shelf collection.

I was just wondering if I repainted (or had someone repaint) say, my 8TH Army vehicles or DAK figures or tanks or possibly my AWI figures would hurt the value?

I have little or no intention of selling anything for a long time, but maybe someday. In the mean while it would be nice to field a platoon of tanks that are “slightly different.”

Just curious … Thanks guys

JMO, but it depends on who is doing the buying. If the buyer is a purist after the figure/models in their original form, then the repaint destroys the value and no sale occurs. If the buyer is just buying because he likes the look and the originality and original form doesn't matter, then you have a sale on a one of a kind piece, with an appropriate, negotiated price. -- Al

Huuuummmmm ... good word Lancer, Thanks.
Maybe I will get some "unpainted" sets and modify them and play until they either look good (or more likely, resemble like Gumby) {sm2}
