Hey guys, was wondering what your views on these soerts of figures are?

I love making dioramas and matching a shooting posed figure up with a target, two of the best sets for this are the bba set with two american figs, one with a grease gun and one planting a mine, and the d-day set with 4 wounded rangers!^&grin

The wounded figures in these sets are in a falling from standing/kneeling pose and this looks extremely realistic!^&grin

Would love to see some more wounded german figures, except maybe for summer, and wounded allies falling after being shot!

The stretcher teams are brilliant, however I would also like to see some medics in action, mostly a winter american medic under fire tending to a wounded soldier with a rifleman providing cover!^&grin

I think the occasional dead figure, like the german figure king and country produce is great but!^&grin

Any thoughts?

Scott

All for it and like the action and reaction poses wounded figures are starting to filter through and I am sure we will see more action types of sets. HB did the desert fight and that was very good and TG do some really nice medic poses with one coming which, can be used as you suggest so, K&C is bound to do some more.

I would like to see more surrendering troops from all sides but, yes would like to see a lot more of this type of stuff

HB has a nice set of medics in action. El Guettar set no. 2
Figarti has a set with a nurse and a wounded soldier on a stretcher
and two wounded walking GI's

I'm all for them myself. Frankly it's a little odd having for instance a D day dio without dead and wounded , it's not realistic. K&C have made some excellent casualties over the Yeats and I hope they continue.

I follow you Scott, I am all for it . Can't have enough of them.
Also soldiers not in a shooting position, but at rest and doing something else is a must have !!!!!
guy:eek:

I would like to see more especially brit paras and men coming off the landingcraft
Scott

A must for good action scenes. I have very few setups without them. We really need them for the D-Day landings. I will even add one to Ancient Egypt once I buy a mummy.

Yes!! I would love to see more! I would like to see some added to the Big Red 1 sets. Without the casualties it is unrealistic.

I'm on board. The old German WW2 dead set is one of the most sought after I've seen. Even more so than the old surrendering one.

Frankly, I'd push the envelope. Russians in Berlin. Marines on Guadalcanal. Details to be supplied on request

No question - It is a "Must Have" figure for each range and even should be done in several different ways with more than one figure.

However, talking with Andy in the past - he told me that these are the least selling figures that he makes ? I couldn't believe it with the way the older dead / wounded figures go on Ebay - but, he said it was true and thats why we don't see that many of them made.

Of all the sets I'd like to see released in an updated version the US D day casualties set is top of the list. This is an excellent set and although now and again you can still pick it up it does not look quite so good along with the quality of today's K&C WW2 releases.ess Although we may not see a return to four figure sets perhaps some two fig dead sets with today's updated quality could be issued. If one of these for instance featured two generic dead GI's another featuring Brits and a third Germans, this would allow the dio maker great scope in how many casualties he could display while at the same time not involving the cost of a four figure set or the risk of such a set not selling.

If your right then I won't expect many soon. Older sets are often confused with modern popularity but, these things seem to have a life of their own. I know people who have no interest in modern WSS stuff but, who have paid big money for WSS sets because they are old K&C sets!!!

The dead figures do not need bases . I find the bases make the figure look clunky and are obviously not necessary for stability . Wounded figures present lots of options for poses .

Yes, I still want some dead NAPs to go with my troops....

Dead Coldstream Guard and Cuirasser are missing 'roll call' not to mention some wounded cavalry too....

I like the wounded, like the Coldstream 'carrying the boy' but then we need the medics too????

Really glas when I create a topic and everyone agrees on the same idea, it stops arguments!^&grin

Thanks for the comments lads!^&grin I totally agree, especially the big red 1, I do not have one set from this regiment but I really wish I had collected them at the start with the 'dead and alive' sets as these were amazing! The current big red 1 figures look spectacular and am actually considering selling off some of my d-day para sets to get a few!^&grin

A big YES PLEASE to wounded and dead.

Unless you concentrate on marching bands, the W&Ds ase essential (as are the surrendering)

I really wish that the older K&C German surrendering were reissued. Not everyone has been collecting for 20, 10 or even 5 years so you miss out on iconic poses.

Reissuing figures also saves on sculpting/ design costs. Good for a slow month ??

I can understand how some collectors might find these types of figures distasteful however for diorama builders these type of figures are essential and realistic, afterall we are portraying war. Personally I'm all for them........especially if they are the enemies of the British Empire whatever the era!!! {eek3} {sm4}
