Messerschmitt BOB Version (1 Viewer)

Al..

Cheers for that. Somewhere in my mind I had the SL as a similar version to this one.
Mitch

The BoB Bf-109 was the E variant, while the Marseille desert Bf-109 was the F variant. As noted, the E version had squared wingtips and heavier armament, 2 Mgs and 3 cannon, while the F had rounded wingtips and was armed with 2 Mgs and 1 cannon. Many German aces felt the F model was the best Bf variant. -- Al

Beautiful indeed, truly a must have, and most probably it would be a limited edition. An Adolf Galland version could also be made...

Finally!!!!!, can't wait for this to be made for collectors........just saw the trailer " Red Tails " and it's awesome.....

if you don't have it in book form type in Werner Molders in the web and you will see this aircraft the eagles head on the nose cone. This is a version of that aircraft.

I was pretty blown away by the visuals in the Red Tails trailer as well. With George Lucas' track record since the original Star Wars trilogy, I'm a bit worried about the story, though:)

I have to admit, my first reaction when I saw the Bf was one of disappointment. I would imagine it's probably the last WWII Warbird of 2011, and I would have preferred to see a plane that hadn't been done yet. I also had the feeling I'm going to wind up paying more money for a repainted variant of a fighter I already own.

But...the info about the E vs. F models make me think this will at least be a different sculpt, and it is a good looking plane (the Desert Bf is 1 in my top 3 of the warbirds K&C produced).

I would have rather this been a "downed" Bf or a plane we haven't seen yet (Stuka would be great, although I know that will likely take some time until the bent wing thing is sorted). But I'm intrigued enough to consider it, at least. A lot will come down to the price.

I think that a downed version would only appeal to a certain section of the collector base as compared to a aircraft like this which, really requires no work to display. At least we know Molders flew this aircraft which, is a great bonus. I must have built the airfix 1/32nd scale ME109 a hundered times and think the colour way is great hope to see some clearer pics soon and would like to see it released at the chicago show to get a good look at it.

Its only september we may still get another warbird before the end of the year!!!

You're right that a downed aircraft will probably appeal to a smaller subset of collectors than a traditional Warbird would.

As far as another Warbird in 2011, there's 3 months, and it's seems likely we'll see the BOB Bf and the Fokkers. It's hard to imagine K&C releasing two poly warbirds from any era in the same month (technically the Typhoon and Albatross came out at the same time, but that's because the former shipped a bit late and the latter shipped early), so that leaves 1 more month. Always happy to be surprised, though. And one would think if there are surprised coming, they'll be in Chicago soon.

Mark, you could always buy a 21st Century ME109 and beat it up a bit;

Mitch,

No I knew exactly what you meant and I very much appreciate it, I meant I worry that I post it too much. But I do have another B.O.B dio in the planning stage, sometimes I walk around with these plans in my head for months before sitting down, writing them down , and then starting work. I'm not one of these guys who can start work at the drop of a hat, I have to plan and plan :rolleyes2: The wife says I like making lists!^&grin

Cheers
