Hi Andy I see you are again once thinking out side of the box with the metal planes. This is what you do and are at your best when you do it.Is there a chance that you are planing something new with materials for your tanks by any chance. Simmo.{sm2}

A very good question{sm3} I wonde rif the use of materials other than polystone would reduce the cost to produce AFVs and reduce the weight and shipping costs? Especially for the big AFVs.

I like the weight and feel of the polystone vehicles and planes. Any lightening of the models would detract from the quality 'feel' in my opinion. Of course, I appreciate that shipping costs would be reduced, but I for one, would prefer to pay the extra cost.

For me are be happy more detail then how heavy it fill and one of the downside with the corgi 1/32 planes is the weight so I don't think that will be the problem, don't forget FOV and minichamps have been making die cast armour for years

I agree. I think it's a good thing K&C are using metal in the forthcoming Stuka's , I think it's a good
Idea. However speaking for myself (only) I prefer the weight of Polystone for my AFV's, just my own
Preference you understand.

I can't see k&C making die cast armour after years of working polystone as it still sell well

I don't see a change either. If the stuka could have been made in polystone we would not even be discussing die cast metal in any ranges let alone a new way forward for K&C IMO.

When talking with Andy in San Antonio a few weeks back it was understood the reason that the Stuka's were going to be done in metal was the size of the plane and its wing design were an issue if done in polystone as far as durability.He wants the collectors to have a durable product which will not have any issues a year or two down the road.Durability was his concern. These 1/30 scale metal examples will be...........Awesome !

This is the second I have seen this issue about problems with other mediums raised. I think to a great extent this is rather scaremongering IMO. I have many models made in a variety of mediums 1/35th and other scales from large to small that are used by some of the 1/30th manufacturers. Some are also quite old and, I have had no problem of shrinkage or any of the problems which, are often alluded to. I also have sets from all the manufacturers and again, nothing has occured in terms of the medium used being problematic.

I also see from being on here and reading the CTSF that no members have posted any issues with other mediums shrinking or falling apart so, I would hope this type of comment could be stopped being churned out as I think its rather unhelpful to say the least.

I think we all look forward to larger aircraft being made regardless of mediums and everyone producing uses what they consider best
