Neil, I'd love to have it as I've lots of GI figs/Brit paras that would look so good on it, but there is no way I could either afford it or find room for it, even the SAS Jeep is about £350 I think !{eek3}

The detail now is simply superb from when I collected. I sold all but thirty of mine including vehicles. Have not looked at modellers loft in about five years. They did not used to do such good accessory kits when I collected or, I would not have changed scales
Mitch

Definitely a different class now, I too sold loads off and kept mainly Brits/US and some classic German figs. I'm just sitting here wondering if I could make a few inches of one side of a Trench in 1/6th to display this fig, he looks so good.

January edition of military modelling has a great WWI dio. The figure is crying out to be placed into a section of trench

Thanks Mitch, I'll check that out.

That's a great figure, Rob, and should make a fine addition to your collection.

This really is a golden age in 1/6 figures. When I think back to the GI Joes I had as a kid, and compare, it's like comparing Andrea castings with old Staddens.

Prost!

Rob..

Superb article from a guy talking about his own relations. If you can't get it I will scan the mag and send it to you.

I have 5 or 6 WWII figures from DID and several of the US Civil war including a cannon. The new WWI figure looks amazing.

Brad, they've come on leaps and bounds haven't they. Only trouble is they take up quite a bit of room.

Thanks Mitch, I appreciate that. I'll check Smiths later in week and get back to you. I've just found some pics online, very nice little scene indeed.

Very true, Rob! My GI Joes are in my parents' attic, and I've toyed with the idea (unintentional pun :D ) of retrieving them, and kitbashing them into some kind of historical figures. But I hardly have room to display 54mm figures, let alone 12" figures.

Still may do it, though, it's too good a project not to ;)

Prost!

That is a nice figure and an unusual one as well. Dragon just seemed to repeat themselves after a while and that is sort of why I got a bit board with them.

Hi Rob,,
"I used to collect 1/6th scale figures", ME TOO! They are like potato chips as you can't just eat one. I have spent the last few years assembling over 37 1/6 US WWII paratroopers and the last one I picked up was a DID offering which was just brilliant. I say go for it, I doubt you will be dissapointed and if you get a chance check out Tony Barton's great Brit stuff over on the 1/6 warrior board:

The obsession, errrr, I mean collection so far:

DiD sent out a notice that only 500 of the WWI figure are being produced, and they are sold out. Dealers aren't even getting their whole preorder numbers, so they are being allocated. From my experience with DiD that means the bigger dealers will be getting more. If you haven't preordered this figure you probably are not getting one.
