Couple of days ago i was studying my Battle of Britain Diorama (recently posted) and i noticed a small white fleck on the rear of the WRAF"s
skirt..(the one holding the clipboard) I slid open the glass door of the display cabinet and carefully picked up the figure so i could remove the white fleck...And to my horror the paint on the rear of her skirt, arms ,tunic and cap just FELL OFF!!!...Only the rear of the figure is affected, and only the blue painted parts!!, It"s the only figure affected in the Diorama, and it came out the box and directly into the display case. Under the blue paint is a glossy white paint..(a little strange for a base layer)..Which i am sure is the cause of the Lady loosing her clothes!.
Has anyone else encountered this problem...and will KC replace the figure??. Any ideas.

Not heard of this on a K&C figure Steve, have you spoken to your dealer about it?

So did i....I married her!!!!, But what the heck, she likes my KC stuff and has been known to take a shot of Tequila (and my best Malt) now and then!!.....Steve

I've had to do a couple of repair/paint touch-ups for a local collector who had had similar problems with some AK figures.

Yes it looks like the base layer or undercoat hasn't adhered to the metal, so maybe some grease of powder wasn't cleaned off.

It should be replaced by the dealer or contact K&C direct.

I had the same problem with 3 figures:Afrika Korps soldier bare chested carrying a jerrycan Ak062,Admiral Doenitz KM012 and a club figure, Colonel Doolittle CF027..everyone of them had a white paint under the actual color...i bought Doenitz in a shop in Rome so i presumed it was due to the exposition in the shelves..but then i bought Ak062 and the Club Figure from internet..and i realized it was not because to the exposition to the sun of Rome..i had with me a few Vallejo Colors so i resolved the problems..(good with the Doolittle figure..not so good with Doenitz and the Afrika Korps..).It's something unpredictable..obviously it's not fault of the painters, even Leonardo Da Vinci made such errors..by the way i can understand you...is unnerving buying a figure already painted and repeating the process of painting...:(

This is one of them, the other was a soldier in greatcoat rifle slung.....

So it wasn't an isolated case.

I hadn't heard of this happening with K & C before. I'm sure it's an isolated incident.

Seems like this is more or less an isolated incident with just a handfull of collectors who share in this experience!!....still can"t quite understand
why KC would use gloss as a primer..(which has stayed on the figure) and why it is only the rear of the figure, and just with the blue painted parts....Anyhow i will be contacting my dealer tomorrow.
