Really nice Peter, I would expect the scene to be crowded for this series. The throng of people and colour is partly why this is so alive. You might have an edge here as it's not often photos are posted for these figures. Hope it continues. Cheers, Robin.

Thank you for the great photos!! Your collection is extremely colorful and wonderful. The most interesting journey I ever took was to China, and it has been hard to resist buying into this range. At least I can admire it through your photos. I am sure they make you smile every time you look at them.

In general, I actual like glossy figures the best and have only recently purchase a few grouping of K&C glossy figures. I do have some Trophy, Hocker & Imperial.
Unfortunately, all the SOHK are in a matte finish. The one SOHK in glossy that I have is "The Noon Day Gun" and in one of the pictures, there should be a small dio of stacked rice bags, those are glossy too.
I am not up on early K&C production in the range, but do know that the gentleman that I purchased my early SOHK figures, originally purchased them, his SOHK figures, in glossy. At some point in the mid 1990s, he saw matte SOHK figures and loved the matte look. As he explained to me, living in HK at the time, he knew Andy fairly well and brought all of his early glossy SOHK to Andy and shortly thereafter, he had all the figures replaced in a matte finish. I assume that K&C swapped out his figures. I also assume that K&C produced the early figures in a matte finish sometime in the 1990s. It would be hard for me to believe that they repainted the glossy figures and turned them into matte figures, if that is possible.
Then again, what do I know....

I can see that you have more than just a few Streets of Old Hong Kong (SOOHK) sets! Some of the more older ones I have as well or in some case sold off. I have over #120 HK figures plus buildings, etc. The SOOHK is a great series to collect & display.

Hello again:
Some more great sets from your SOOHK series by K&C. Hope to get to set up a nice display area soon. We have ours (this is my wife's favorite display) on an area about 84 by 29 inches in our recreation room in the basement and is at a very good height with good lighting so that everything is easy to view. Good luck with your future full time display!

My wife has a day off today. So with her direction, I removed some non SOHK pieces from the top shelf and have added some more figures, including, from what I am told, a fairly rare piece, the Noon Day Gun. As I add more figures, I will update with more pictures.
