I am building a dio about operation Nordwind in which the 45th US infantry Div was opposed to the 6th SS Gebirgsjäger Div in the Vosges mountains in France .The Armoured jeep will be part of the dio/ ( winter version - the offensive started 1st of Jan and is was snowing) . I gave the jeep a complete repaint outside and inside, brought the allied stars back to the surface and weathered the vehicle to fit in in the scene. On the front armoured plate I put the insignia of the 45th . I still have to tackle the trailer and the men and add more details. The figures have already received the shoulder insignia of the 45th.
Will keep you posted about progress.

I have no idea what the 45th Infantry Division had in WWII, but my M151A had light OD canvas seats.
And not too clean most of the time, nor was the rest of the interior. On maneuvers
any way.

Seat are not really 100% done yet . Paint still wet . Have to wait until dry for weathering.

WOW!!** How sweet is that...Much better than the original!..And you picked out a division with an awesome track record. I believe the 45th
inf div sat more or less on the top of the pile for the most days in actual combat. Also love the 45th Decals!!, where did you get hold of those???...are they also available for the 90th inf div???...really like one day to change some of my figures into the 90th and fit them into a
Diorama.

Steve,
these I made myself out of paper used for making prints. I made 1 in 1/6 scale and then reduced it to 1/32 scale and they fit. Then I made some copies of the 1/32 scale badge, and the job was done.
I found some for the 90th available through "Archer fine transfers" ( I attach a copy) but they are in 1/35 scale!!! - a bit too small for my taste
hope this helps

I really like this! Great use of the decals. The figures look really good. I have wanted some 45th div figures for a while, no one seems to follow the Med battles from what is out there. I just can't bring myself to repaint figures. I have the unit is 28mm and 1/6th scale as well.

AIDMAN - you are correct, the 45th div had the most days in combat as a unit during WW2. Also the first Native American Indian was awarded the CMA after Sicily.

Guy, really inspiring job there. Thanks for posting it. Look forward to the completion.

Great work Guy. I really like the patches on the figures and the repaint of the Jeep is tremendous.

Here is my armoured jeep, ready for operation Nordwind. I will of course add some snow and mud once the jeep is placed in its scenery.( still a lot of work to do)
I added a lot of supplies , some hooks on the trailer and some rope to hold the crates in place .The trailer's passenger has no more holes in his trousers and I gave his trousers a repaint as well.
the next pictures I will post will be from the completed dio.( I hope to finish it by april 15th)
