Frank, feel free to correct me as you are the Photoshop master, but all I do is take a pic in a hi res setting on the camera, transfer it to Photoshop on the computer, and scale down to 800-1000 pixels wide in Photoshop, whatever size looks best with your pic.

Wayne, what camera are you using. If you email me the details, I'll have a look at the instruction book online & see what I can come up with
 
Photo sizing is something that is available in every photo editor.
