Ok Guys, A few pics from the Texas Toy Soldier Show Friday Evening Party and a glimpse of what the John Bell Hood Show figure looks like. The figure will not be available until tomorrow morning which also means no one has been able to see it other than the KingsX Staff. A very nice size turnout of enthusiasts and collectors showed
up to sip on a cool beverage, eat some snacks and chat with Andy, Laura, and the KingsX staff. By viewing the amount of dealers setting up today this weekend is going to be the best Show in San Antonio yet !!! As I sit in the host hotel for the show typing away here is some info to share, definitive info I might add.

I did pose a few questions to Andy in which he was more than happy to answer.

King&Country Stuka: Andy clearly stated this plane is still being worked on to give the collector the best possible Stuka model. The intent is to have the wings fixed to the fuselage ,non detachable meaning a seamless proper fit. When this task is accomplished to standard then K&C will release this eagerly anticipated war bird !!! The metal version is out as far as a possibility. The prospect of the plane being done looks good !

King&Country Eastern Front: More WWII Russian figures and Vehicles will be released before the end of the year, as the latest releases are doing quite well !

King&Country Berlin Diorama sets: Be ready for something new as far as Diorama buildings to add to your existing Berlin sets. Berlin 38' or Berlin 45' is the surprise part.

Pics of the Texas Toy Soldier Show will be posted tomorrow by yours truly.......Till Then, Cheers !

Thanks for the info. I take it that since this is a KX figure that if you buy a certain amount of merchandise, you then get the figure.

Thanks PA thats great news all round i knew Andy and Co wouldn't give up on the "S" word..............................^&grin

Your'e quite welcome Wayne. It makes perfect sense to get the plane "Right" before releasing it. The "S" word looks good !!! ^&grin

If this figure is only available now for those attending the show, then I suppose this seller must of brought his wife and four kids...then took all theirs to sell on eBay...I like his thinking{eek3}...wait...maybe they were his friends:confused:

Ok guys, I posted a pic of the show figure because people asked for it. This is not an E-Bay thread.

That's pretty funny and they have different prices.

Sorry PA.

Hey PA, thanks very much for posting the info and the pics :smile2: Good to hear Wayne and all the other Stuka fans are to get the plane they've been asking for {bravo}}

Interesting to hear about the stuka. The obvious way forward to have wings that are affixed and, the reason why I would not want one from Figarti as they did not look from the pics as if they fitted it right IMO. Did not think metal was ever going to be a possibility but, look forward to seeing what K&C come up with.

Can't believe someone has figures up for sale already!!!! sad that life depends on peddling these show figures!!!!

Look forward to pics etc later from the show

It doesn't affect me but people "peddle" toy soldiers everyday......Don't they ?????

I. As I sit here looking at my Figarti Stuka it looks like a real airplane-that being that the wings and fuselage are not one piece. The wings and fuselage fit nicely. You could always wrap tape around the prongs or use modeling putty if you want to but I found it unnecessary.

II. I can, but what does it matter. I trust that the generated funds will be promptly routed back into the hobby which is a great thing.

III. On another note-great job of hooking up Wayne with the FW-190 forward canopy section reconstruction project. Nicely done!

Thanks Panzer ace! That Stuka and Eastern Front news is like music to my ears :smile2:

Marc..

Cheers for that. glad to help wayne and, it took a few minutes to do and, I cut the lawn while waiting for the medium to set. I am sure most of the JU87's from figarti will fit but, the pics I saw and a couple of people who have them have stated they are not snug fits and, for me, its sods law that I would buy one and they would be problematic as have a number of the products I have bought that I passed this time.

As for the club/show figures again just my opinion but, when you see them this fast and for a high starting price its not the love of the hobby and wanting to input the income that immediately springs to mind.

If I were at the show and could get extra figures I would then sell them at the price I paid for them to people I know would appreciate them but, thats just me.

As far as the King&Country Product updates sorry I mainly asked questions focused on WWII but only had 5 minutes to chat with Andy as he tries to speak with many of the collectors that show up for the gatherings.Based on that one tends to get what you can out of Andy regarding info. Fortunately for me I collect Berlin 38'/45',
awaiting the Stuka and buy Russians to go along with my eastern front Germans.I was myself happy to hear about the pending releases.
One thing to keep in mind though as the Stuka is still being tweaked,if it is not up to standard then who knows. It sounded like the latest prototype has good potential .....^&grin

As far as shows and products that walk away from them and wind up on E-Bay I clearly do recall a Figarti Stuka from the West Coaster that went for a very tidy profit. I wish the seller had offered it to me for cost as I would have appreciated it myself. I collect nothing from the civil war so if anyone had asked me I would have gladly accomodated them, even to Europe.
Oh well maybe next time ????
