I have been asked more then once to post my KC Club and dinner figures so I have finally gathered most of them up.

Here are my KC Collector Club , Chicago, West-coaster and a few rare specials, Toy Soldiers!!!!

The group below contains nine KC Collector club figures and one dinner figure of a World War 1 British soldier marching. Most noteworthy to me is the CF01 Napoleonic Old Guard figure. Very hard to find and commands upwards of 300 American.

The group below is six dinner figures, two KC collector club and the Aussie Light horse special. I really like the AK paratrooper figure.

Here is as Rare As It Gets!!!! My KC Dealer Promo Napoleon Figure!!!

11JUN12 040c.JPG

Here is the dealer promo lying down to show the KC marking on the bottom. Rare to get piece. It commands a hefty price of well over three hundred American and I have only seen three available ever and I own one of them. Unfortunately it became a Del Prado and was mass produced later..........
However, this KC version is worth Bank!!

Thanks for looking,

Ludwig!

Ludwig:

An interesting group of figures from assorted eras of history. I also really liked the 1:1 scale real helmets from many years ago!

Ludwig, I know many a Napoleonic collector are drooling over that Napoleon figure !!! Nice one.

Brett

Brett,

I am going to have to say somewhere either in 2004 or possibly 2005. That is when KC was making sculpts for Del Prado. When KC took over Kings X Toy Soldiers in San Antonio they carried many of the Del Prado Cavalry line painted by KC which are outstanding. I have purchased at least a dozen different ones in the secondary market over the years which include my Blucher leading my Prussians in my Waterloo diorama. I think there was some sort of falling out on the relationship between KC and Del Prado and it ended quickly. You can tell if you have one of these Del Prado's as it will be painted better and it will have no markings on the bottom of the base and it will not have come with the small tag or Osprey booklet. I will photograph mine and post them, they are awesome.

Back to the Napoleon dealer promo. I purchased mine in 2005-6 area I believe from a dealer in the orient. The only other two I ever saw available were from Capitolron a Treefrog enthusiast listed on Ebay way back. However, I was very dissapointed when I found it had become a Del Prado mass poduced figure later. No offense to Del Prado or anyone of course. Business is business. But again I got over it as I have had offers of 300.00 to 1000.00 American for it.

Maybe someone at KC can enlighten us....or Capitolron.

I have attached a picture for now that will show many of these KC painted figures. They are all mounted figures behing Wellington pretty much. Cool eh? They are not all period to my display but until we see some more Prussians available they will stay there.

Hope this helps and maybe we will here from someone else on this elusive KC Napoleon Bonaparte dealer promo!!

Ludwig,
Thanks for the info and great pic of mounted figures.

Not sure what the deal was on that figure. Either way seems like not many done. Dealer promos can vary how they work. For example with some it is how much a dealer spends on a particular series first batch or in a particular month and will be eligible for so many figures (or in a recent case the landing craft that was not released as a regular item).

As far as pricing goes for Collector Club figures highest price I am personally aware of was $415 paid for CF01 Foreign Legion Indochina (however I do not monitor them that much on Ebay). I know a collector who has 20 of the Marching French Napoleonic Club Figure.

Thank you for your post cantinetozzo!

I agree that this is a nice cast. However the paint job is lacking. The price is way too high. I never followed the KC Hachette series. I think you are right the first ten or so figures were done by KC. The problem was that they did not seem to be painting them and if so it was only the first few. The paint jobs appear lacking in quality to me. No offense to anyone, my observation.

I had recently been through the same sort of thing when they did the Del Prado deal prior and I did not want to go back down that road. Frankly I was very Unhappy to put it mildly, when KC took the CF014 KC Hong Kong Club Figure sculpt of Murat and made it a Hachette Marshall. Below is a Hachette Murat. Compare it to CF014. Same sculpt, lesser paint job.
HACHETTE MARSHALS KING & COUNTRY 2 Maréchal Murat 1767-1815.JPG
This was supposed to be Collector Club figure. A figure you could only get as a member or buy for higher dollar on the secondary market....:( Honestly at the time I was miffed...I thought whats next re-releasing retired items? Another point of dismay was that many of us were waiting for KC to make these Marshall's for the KC Napoleonic series and this deal kind of blew that... I guess Andy had a plan here somewhere.....not sure what it was/ is.....doubt we will ever know as no one at KC posts much....

Anyway, I would like to have the sculpt you pictured and paint it myself!!

Ciao,

Ludwig

Yes you are right..recently i bought (but i haven't received it yet) the first figure of the series..Ney.I hope is good as i see in the pictures,i paid it about 8$,so it didn't affected so much my wallet, and the pose is taken from the Osprey volume Napoleon Commanders(2).I plan to buy (if i found 'em at a decent price ) other 2 or 3 figures, Lannes, Beauharnais (depicted in Russia, a future good range to reproduce for K&C in my opinion) and my favourite..Cambronne..:)Returning to the Hachette painting job i've no means of judging(for the moment) the quality of the Marechaux series, but for some of the Legion figures the painting is better than some K&C figures i own (i think of the officer FOB002,really a bad paint job on my figure, i have no camera with me but i'll post some pics in the future).

To clarify, the first 30 Hachette Marshalls were done by King & Country and that info is from the head guy at K&C!

TD

Well, Maybe that Head Guy will elaborate for us one of these days.

Thanks,

Ludwig

Not sure too much to add other than they were contracted to do the series, did the first 30 and that was the end of the relationship. Some of the 30 are better than others, but I guess that is subjective too, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder!

I hear you, The early ones I saw were nicer then later. I hope KC gets back to the regular Napoleonic line with some mounted allied forces. Enough French foot troops for now.

Thanks for your post!!
