How big is this event? Are there like a hundred dealers or what?

Ludwig

It is more like a gathering of collectors with Andy with a dinner thrown in to give our friends down under an opportunity to mingle. Not designed as a Toy Soldier Show
as you saw in Texas. ^&cool

No, just Andy and Helen from K&C and Brett from the Military Workshop. Brett organises the dinner/function etc at the local RSL club as well as accommodation for Andy and Helen and out of towner's like myself. Andy provides info on new K&C releases at the dinner and does a meet and greet people in Brett's Shop. People can also ask questions to Andy at the dinner as well. A similar event happens in Sydney a few days later and it's organised by Peter Nathan Toy Soldiers.

Unfortunately this is as big as it gets in Oz but it's great that Andy (and Helen) takes the time to come down and you have dedicated people like Brett and Peter who work hard to put it all together.

Tom

Hmm, I see an Australian stamp in Ludwig's passport {eek3}

Ahh yes, that is what I thought.

Only a hand full of dealers in the whole country I suspect.

I actually only have ever heard of Peter Nathan until the forum.

Nice that we all finance this fanciful trip for Andy!! Are we not great guys indeed?

Fanciful trip??? negative comment, not needed or welcome.:mad:
Wayne.

Ludwig, It seems that you and I are the only ones on this forum that seem to get it. Or others are in denial. Keith

for my 2 cents worth. i have known andy since 1995 and he has always been like one of the guys. so what else could you ask for . so it's just time to lay off him for pete's sake. enough said

Waynepoo, it was not meant as a negative comment. It seems to me a major expense for a small collector base and one of the collective reasons for the dramatic rise in prices of late=Traveling the world constantly. My observation...if you do not like it that is your issue. I still like you being on the forum:)

Kieth, you and I see eye to eye. I do not need to be a yes man. I am not a dealer or a remote collector. I spend a TON of money on KC's product and I will speak what I mean.

Hawkeye, we cannot lay Andy off...the unemployment rate is too high already. Besides, I like Gordon to much to see him have to take charge of this!!!{sm4}

To you all happy collecting.

Ludwig

If we look at it that way, the companies that you do business with pay money to you which you spend on toy soldiers which in turn pay for Andy's trip.{sm4} Perhaps they are the great guys!{sm4}{sm4}

Another way to look at it ; The man owns a Toy soldier company and does not mind paying out of pocket to travel to meet individual collectors. We are not talking going
just to meet with dealers, but this is for owner and individual collectors to meet and chat. How selfish of you Andy !!!!

I really liked this one Simmo. I also like your humor!!

The problem is we have so few members that have actually spent any time in Australia. They do not understand.

Now for Brett with no offense intended. You are a distributor. That comes with certain limitations and KB obligations. I have clients too. They are like BP; Exxon; Citgo; Valero; Eagle Ford Shale....I would not bad mouth them either!!!....and you will not find one post that does....

Your good friend whom loves Australia and Tasmania.....

Ludwig

Ludwig you have a way with words and have hit the nail on the head here. Toy soldiers are fun and not things people should get upset about. Let's have fun again and I also like people from Tasmania even if they have more fingers and toes then all the rest of us. Simmo.

Mate you don't have to say Australia and Tasmania {eek3},it is part of Australia just not connected.

Do you send PM's to tell people how to act and what to say when ever you read a post you don't like. Simmo.

No...I also do not threaten to let their tires down.

Guys, if I may be Mr Presume a lot here for one sec, if this is in relation to my ' An explanation' thread it really is not worth arguing about. A lot of accusations and unpleasantness were flung at me and now its in the past, I learnt very quickly who my real genuine friends in Australia are and those who consider themselves enemies. So please don't fall out over this, its old history and simply not worth it.

Rob you have a way of smoothing things down and that is one of the things I like about you.

After re-reading some of my posts I would like to apologize if anyone was offended. I do have firm stances on certain things, but sometimes speaking ones mind need be done with a bit more tact....and I shall persevere to endeavor.

Sound advice, as is never look at Toy Soldiers online whilst drunk AND holding credit card, unless your wife is VERY understanding:wink2:
