Outstanding Wayne!!

I am wondering whether to leave it as is and do a diorama with some like pieces or WINTERIZE it and Bulge it.

However, correct me if I am wrong. I do not think the camo is correct for the theater this piece of armor was used in. I do not think it was in Normandy was it? I believe it was only in the east? Could be wrong.

You're right and wrong. Going from memory, almost all of the Elefants were on the Eastern Front and the 3 colour camo is a typical camo for there. Some Elefants were in Italy with different camo. I'm pretty sure there were none in the west and none at the Bulge.

To me the Elefant is an iconic German anti-tank AFV that I identify with the steppes of Russia.

No Elefants in the BotB, all either destryed in Russia or the rest went Italy, where ironically there movement was hindered by a lot of the bridges not being able to take there weight. there is on at the Aberdeen Proving Graound, fantastic bit of kit

Excellent thread, Ludwig.
This is my biggest gun!

Hi guys, I was lucky enough to see both the Jagdtiger and Elephant at the Aberdeen proving grounds (I believe they are in the process of moving these (the Collection) down to Petersburg VA (FT Hill I believe). If I remember correctly. Since the K & C Elephant has a hull MG. It is a later version which would have seen action in Italy. The ones at Kursk had no Hull MG. The thing that I will never forget about the real Elephant is how big the bolts were. Huge! Brad

I could not pass on getting this one either ! I got mine as soon as it was released and have been quite pleased with it ever since !! Not sure about the camo pattern, but
would it not be feasable some of these were first shipped to Normandy and then diverted the the Eastern front ^&confuse

Hi PA

I dont believe any made it to Normandy. (too early). Not sure of the exact production dates. But believe it was late 44 through 45. Some did fight against teh Western Allies. But i don't belive any were directly involved in the Ardenne offensive. Hope this helps. Thanks Brad

One of my big Guns.
