Hi PA, Know one seems to know. Perhaps KC is looking at lowering the overhead and going green. Probably not a bad idea.

In the past the collector mag had new info in it and was a great thing to have. But, in my opinion, with the evolution of the website "upcoming Releases" and "the dispatches" nearly all of the information in the Collector mag has already been shown and released. I look thru one and I have seen everything prior to its release. They are a neat little magazine but certainly an area wear cost savings could be derived and if that is the direction KC is going to be green and cut costs...I am all for it.

Maybe this could be added to the question list.

I hope the Collectors Quarterly's are not discontinued as I have "all" of them except for the first 4 issues made. They are a great "in hand" reference that are really nice
to refer back to from time to time !!!

When talking to Andy last week he did mention he had hoped the new Collector would be ready for his trip to Australia but he did not quite make it. I expect it will be shipping very soon.

Ludwig, If you dont want it you should tell your dealer not to send you one. Doubt this will be raised as a question with Andy at Tuesday gathering (now 71) as I have never had an Australian raise the issue of cancelling the Collector. There have been quite a few issues showing things not previously known and it is also a useful reference for some. Some collectors search a long time to complete their Collector collection and I frequently get requests from overseas asking for old copies.

Regards
Brett

I agree with Brett and PA. I have many leaflets and flyers going back to the 1980s and it's not only great to look at them but they are invaluable reference material. Moreover, although you wouldn't this isn't the case, not everyone has access to the Internet so this is still an important means of communicating with collectors.

I think the collector mags and the leaflets are indeed a very good idea and, often sit with a cuppa and go over them. I just never get bored reading them. I know lots of collectors who use this and contact by telephone with dealers to keep up with what is coming out and, as a reference to older sets. so, as has been said its an invaluable resource for many in their buying practices.

I also see they have considerable value as a small number went on E-bay a while back for £125!!!!!

Ditto that. The collector, leaflets and full page ads are almost a collection in their own right, I now a large collection of these in binders along side print offs from the web. I've always found them helpful deciding what to buy and showing my wife just what I'm buying:wink2: Another enjoyable element of collecting K&C.

Well i for one would not wish for them to disappear. Always enjoy reading and re-reading each issue, and as Rob already stated they are a collectors item in thier own right..And i also believe as one browsers through old copies it often stimulates us to buy an item which we missed first time around...or which we then could"nt fit in, but now can....So KC please carry on with the Collectors!!!!!!......Now i have every issue up to date....250 Qiud for the lot guys!!!!!!!!!!.....NO_NO_ just joking!!.

Now Brett,

I think you are taking the post the wrong way Brett. No where did I say that I did not like them. I have all of them. Someone stated thatthey are like a collection and worth value. 2kidhood on Ebay actually sells them for a profit.

I just stated that if the reason was for going green (which obviously is not going to be the case if some other posts are true) saving paper; etc that I was for it. I am involved in a program called LEED. Not Leeds that is a place in England. LEED is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. There has actually been one LEED building accredited in Melbourne and one in Sydney. Maybe you should take a look. Might be good eh?

I belong to a group that wants to see that there is something left for our children and grand children. Pollution and running out our natural resources is not going to make that a reality Brett. I thought this would possibly be an avenue that KC was looking at.

But perhaps not yet...

Have a great day.

Very much looking forward to the next edition of Collector and also the leaflets and ads that will accompany the latest wave of RAF releases. {bravo}} Its not that late really , its still only July after all.

Rob...

Your right and we have been told its slightly delayed mind, I try to avoid the threads when its out as I like to get them through the post and read it without having seen or heard anything about it

Ah, Mitch, in that case I must apologise for posting them on here when they come out, I've been told quite a few like reading them on here, I'll give you a heads up next time so you can avoid it!

So I guess the newest issue should be out soon then is what we are stating here ? Good as they are a terrific asset :wink2: I would hate to see them fall off to the way
side.

I find it very enjoyable to read the Collector and leaflets by K&C which I hope will remain with a "hard copy" option.

It is quite a challenge to collect these as certain back issues of the Collector and the early leaflets of the 1990's are not easy to come by.

If anyone has all the copies, it would be evident there is much more than just new releases.

Raymond :)

PA,

You are a lucky man. Hope you get the #1 through #4 soon.

The leaflets are not numbered as far as I know, so it is harder to keep track of what is missing.

Best, Raymond :)

Collector going to the printer this week and any perceived delay has nothing to do with going green or the environment. However over dinner tonight Andy will be telling his plans for saving the environment and world peace.

Thanks for the update Brett !!! I really do enjoy and look forward to these Collector issues when they come out. I place them all in binders with document protectors in
sequential order. I thought it was a feasable question to ask as I'm sure others were wondering too ! Hopefully Andy doesn't become a "Greenpeace" activist and halt the printing presses {sm3}

If Anybody has a spare issue #1 through #4 to part with let me know. :rolleyes2: Hope all has a fun time in Brisbane tonight !!!
