Well, I have recently acquired a circa 2000 Toy Army Workshop catalog from a friend on the forum - Gideon. I tell you, probably the only toy soldier purchase that every thoroughly depressed me. Seriously, I could order the whole first 3 pages, sadly, the Company is long out of business. What really nice WW1 vehicles including a slew of Rolls Royce Items. Just can only say WOW.

I own a Rolls Royce armored car from them. Bought it at a show for a great price, before I even knew who TAW was....Michael

I also had some TAW, which I am sorry to say I was too dumb to keep. I had several infantry sets, a howitzer set, and a command car with figures. All I have left is a mounted figure of FM Haig! TAW made some great stuff. -- Al

I have a nice collection of it, but am sorely missing Rolls. Seriously, the first page brought me to near tears!!

well, I don't know whether to say thank you for buying it or my condolences. I am happy that you got it tho but I'm sad that you're not able to pick the cars up. We had a lot of them over a few year period. They were terrific. Their artillery sets, in my opinion, are still some of the best ever made.

I'm glad that I stil have a copy, and some of the figures and guns.

A sad loss indeed when the company went out of business, BUT yeomanry Miniatures is now making some great stuff of a similar style, so keep up the good work, Brian.

Thank you for your post. Yeomanry Miniatures is indeed now making vehicles to fill the gap left by Toy Army Workshop and have some interesting plans for 2012. A Crossley Lorry in several versions both with spoked wheels and wire wheels is scheduled for release in March and a Lanchester armoured car should be available in June. Dave Love has been commissioned to produce a Graf und Stift staff car and we hope to have this and occupants for December. Other vehicles I want to produce include a Vickers Clyno, the Rolls Royce armoured car, several lorries and the General Bus.

Graham, who owned TAW, currently makes my molds and I am negotiating with him to produce some new artillery masters for me after he retires in March. So all I can say at the moment is "watch this space Toy Army Workshop may not have disappeared completly!"

thanks for the good news of the Artillery, there are many Arty. collectors who have missed out on obtaining the bigger guns ofrom WW1, so we will all be looking forward to their coming.

I do hope that you will be able to also prvide a range of different heads, like Graham did. In that way we can have guns to fit into many of the campaign areas, such as pith helmets for Palestine, Slouch hats for Aussies, Caps and tin hats for the Western Front. The uniforms wil be universal for any of Briatin's forces, inc Colonials, and maybe some in shirtsleeves too, for the summers when Gunners get very hot a sweaty

Hi John,

During the last 10 years Graham and I have swapped many items in our ranges, after all Alan Caton made all our master figures, and it could well be that the heads that you have on your Australian gun crew came from Yeomanry Miniatures originally.

Currently 90% of Yeomanry Miniatures figures are produced with seperate heads and all dismounted figures are produced with separate bases so that a modeller can ring the changes and mount them on scenic bases if they so desire. From this year cavalry horses will also be supplied with bases to make them more stable. However traditionalists have the option to have their figures without bases should they so wish.

Any collector who has purchased Yeomanry Miniatures cavalry figures in the past, without bases,and feel that they would like them to be mounted on bases can either, obtain a basing kit from Yeomanry Miniatures or, if they don't feel that they have the necessary skill, return their horses to Yeomanry Miniatures to have bases fitted and painted for a modest fee.

Hi All,

I thought I should put your minds at rest with regard to Toy Army Workshop. I visited Graham Pettitt today and he has agreed to make masters for Yeomanry Miniatures. This means that over the next months we could be seeing guns and lorries returning to the market place. The first items should start to appear around June time but at the present time I am unable to say what the first items will be.

So Toy Army Workshop is not dead but will be living in Yeomanry Miniatures.

I can only say, "Don't hold your breath!" Graham is dragging his feet with regard to guns! At the moment he wants to make lorries to fill gaps in his collection.

Although I have decided to make 2013 the year of the gun I'm afraid we will have to look elsewhere for the masters to be made. Alan Caton has already found and finished a 13pdr, an 18pdr and a 9pdr RML and Limbers for me, as well as a wire wagon, to start the ball rolling and Dave Love is very interested in making some bigger stuff for me. This is a blank canvas at the moment. I am interested in getting a 60pdr made but if you have any preferences for particular field guns let me know and we will see what we can do.

By the way, watch your post over the next few weeks as there will be a surprise coming to you!

Hi Brian, That is great news all over......

Alan providing high quality 13/18 pdrs and as a plus 9pdrs will be great! Even better given that limbers came along.....what about garrisons in action? Will they come also?
Dave is the man for any artillery pieces, even more so if these are bigger brutes above field regimental level and or RHA sets......the ones he has produced and sold under his brand in the past were great.......if Alan could match them garrisons would make dreams come true......

Please keep us posted on the goodies that you will have, be it from Graham´s lorries, Alan´s or Dave´s guns...................

As to the surprise over the mail......now I am very, very anxious........

Yo - dude - but I was thinking more of a sub-forum on this Treefrog site - somewhere between Trophy - and More Glossy manufacturers - headed "Yeoman" - or "Yeomanary Miniatures", if you would prefer.
