What is the most ugliest WW2 TANK.(Just for fun) (1 Viewer)

If the small production run Russian landships are ignored, I think the Churchill is the ugliest major tank of WWII. A very big tank which makes it's gun look small, and a row of tiny wheels that don't look like they could carry the tank at any speed or over rough ground.

Yeah got to be the Churchill, with long body and high tracks it looks kind of like a throw back to the Tanks of WW1. Ugly indeed. Germans made much more ' attractive ' (if you can call a tank that^&grin) AFV's. But thank god for all the American and British Tanks made in their thousands that helped drive to victory. By wars end it didn't matter how good a Tiger was there just too many of our boys in their Tanks{bravo}}

Although not a Tank but a SPG take a look at the Bishop, its uglier than the Churchill! {eek3}

The Churchill is certainly in the running. The KV-2 was an ugly tank, with the normal looking body and running gear, but with that HUGE turret. --Al

Was just looking at pics of the KV2 Al, man now THAT is ugly, even the Churchill isn't that bad! We have a winner!!

For me it the Australian sentinel tank

At least the Sentinal looks like a tank (although one put together in someones back yard during a Sunday barbie from scrap metal and spare car parts). But for me, the ugliest is the Churchill by a wide margin - especially the older Mk1 and Mk2.

Not even the Russian T-35 with its 5 turrets and 11 man crew is that ugly. And yes they were in action against the Germans at Barbarossa and Moscow.

Now that's what I call a tank. {eek3}

Guys, I just googled images of the Australian Sentinel Tank and I don't think its anywhere near as ugly as the KV2, but what in gods name is up with that thing sticking out from what looks like the machine gun port!!{eek3}{eek3}^&grin This is a family forum so I better not post a pic, but it looks positively obscene!{eek3}

Even though I not keen on any German tanks I have to admit that the British Valiant tank is not very nice on the eye.....{sm2}

Oz mate I am firmly in the 'The Germans were the ememy camp'...{sm3} I jest, I grow up with 1/35 scale German tanks, had the lot and now I guess they just don't hold any more interest for me now. Bring on more allied tanks please......:wink2:

Yep I agree here, Germans were the bad guys (to put it mildly) so interest is always going to be limited, but they made some superb fighting machines. In recent years allied and especially British armour has come to the fore in TS production with K&C and Figarti producing some superb items, I have high hopes for more very soon from K&C:smile2:

Agree with you on the Churchill mate (sorry Rob), but not on the Cromwell. The Vickers MK VI light tank is another one that i can think of..

Tom

Well said Tom, the Churchill is ugly but the Cromwell not so in my view.

Yep we made very ugly Tanks, but on the flip side we did produce THE single most beautiful fighter aircraft of them all:wink2:
