Today we lost Clive Dunn who will forever be remembered as the aged Corporal Jones in the classic ' Dads Army' , his catch phrases have passed into everyday language and are quoted in daily life in a way few others are; ' Don't Panic' ' They don't like it up em ' (re the use of the bayonet of course). His performance of the brave but doddery old soldier is one of the most popular performances in this country's tv history. He will be sadly missed.

Thank you Mr. Dunn, for many wonderful memories, and great laughter shared amongst TV viewers around the world. You will always be legendary as the men you portrayed are legend...

Made the TV news down here.

I'm not surprised Brett, he was a large part of what has to be quite simply one of the probably top three most popular BBC comedies ever produced, amazing that a series started in 68 and finished in 77 not only still repeated often but still trounces newer progs in its ratings. Character driven comedy with an affectionate dig at the British class system that whilst gently mocking also pays tribute to these old soldiers who were prepared to (and did in frequent accidents and air raids) give their lives in service of their country.

And all this done without single use of the 'F' word.
